Million Mile Secrets reader Sirjim38 comments:

My wife and I both have Hilton points, less than 60,000.  Is there a way to transfer our points so we could get a 3rd night in addition to our 2 weekend nights?  We just spent 3 nights at the Waldorf Astoria New York using my 2 nights. Had a great time.

Sirjim38 earned 2 certificates for weekend nights with the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card for spending $2,500 on purchases in the 1st 4 months.  But he and his wife want to stay a 3rd night.

2 Nights at the Hilton Bora Bora Nui Costs ~$1,508, but You Can Stay for at This and Other Hilton Hotels With the 2 Weekend Night Certificates You Earn With the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Card

Check out my suggestions on other top Hilton Hotels where you can use your weekend nights in the USAsia, the CaribbeanEurope, and the South Pacific and Australia.

Plus, you’ll earn a $100 statement credit when you spend $100+ on your 1st stay at a Hilton hotel within the 1st 3 months.  This more than makes up for the $95 annual fee, which is NOT waived the 1st year.

But this offer expires tomorrow, June 8, 2015!

Yes!

Sirjim38’s wife can transfer points to his Hilton account (or any other Hilton member’s account) for a fee.    She must transfer in 5,000 point increments at a cost of $12.50 per 5,000 Hilton points.  So if she transfers 30,000 Hilton points it will cost $75.

Transferring Hilton Points to Friends & Family Members Online Is Easy, but You Will Have to Pay a Fee

The fee may not be worth it depending on regular cash price of the hotel.  So do the math before you transfer the points!

Other Important Terms:

  • It can take 24 hours for the transferred Hilton points to post
  • You can transfer a maximum of 200,000 Hilton points per year
  • Transferred points do NOT count towards Hilton elite status

See my post on the rules for transferring other hotel points.

How to Redeem 2 Weekend Nights + Points for a 3rd Night

If Sirjim38 redeems his 2 weekend night certificates for Saturday and Sunday night, he can use his points to add Monday night to his stay.

To make the reservation call 800-446-6677.

Note:   The 2 weekend night certificates you earn with the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card expire 12 months after they are issued.

Bottom Line

You can earn 2 weekend night certificates with the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card when you complete the minimum spending.  The weekend nights are good at almost any Hilton, so you can save thousands of dollars at some of the most expensive Hilton hotels.

You can also earn a $100 statement credit when you spend $100 or more on your 1st stay at a Hilton hotel within the 1st 3 months of opening your account.

This is a great deal because it makes up for the $95 annual fee.  But it expires TOMORROW, June 8, 2015.

And if you want to share Hilton points with a friend or family member to stay more nights, you can transfer points for a fee of $12.50 per 5,000 Hilton points.

Remember, this is only worth it under certain circumstances.  Because you can book hotels for others using your points.
