Plz share Barclays reconsiederation tel no. My husband applied and was denied for accounts not in satisfactory

Hi Daraius,

My wife and I both used your link to apply for Barclays Arrival a few days ago, and both were not approved instantly. I decided to call the reconsideration line.

For myself, they need additional info, copy of my D/L, SS card, and utilities bill for security checking purpose, which I just sent yesterday. Waiting for further status update.

A couple days later – For my wife, the rep said it was declined because of too many applications recently. We asked her to reconsider and explained to her why we needed those cards ( all hotels and airlines related ). Then she asked about source of my wife’s income ( as homemaker ). Again, we openly discussed with her , and finally she ” approved ” my wife’s application.

Thus, calling the reconsideration line worked for us this time.

Thank you !

@Linda @Jim @Raymond – Thanks for sharing your experience!

Same thing just happened to me. In my experience, the approvals are indeed instantly communicated. Anything else indicates you were declined for the card, typically for having too many applications within the last two years (or other designated time period). The card issuer adopts this approach to avoid any complaining and importuning from unhappy applicants, who have generally calmed down by the time the bad news arrives in the mail.

Wrong @ Jim – 60% pending apps can lead to approvals. Pending means that the credit is currently unsure on what credit limit to offer you ( for those who get approved after the pending state of course)

I’ve checked my status at the link twice and received the same message both times, that my application was received and it can take 10 days to process. I guess I’m spoiled by other card companies’ instant approvals.
