Barclaycard Arrival Plus Minimum Spending

You’ll have 90 days from the day you’re approved for the card, NOT the day you actually receive the card.
Credit card sign-up bonuses are one of the easiest ways to earn lots of miles & points. But to earn the bonus, you have to spend a certain amount (the “minimum spending”) within a certain period of time.
With the best offer ever for the Barclaycard Arrival Plus card, you can earn 50,000 Barclaycard Arrival miles after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account.
You can read my full review of this offer here.
But when does the countdown to complete the minimum spending start?
It Starts from the Approval Date
If you apply for the Barclaycard Arrival Plus online and are instantly approved, the countdown to complete the minimum spending requirement begins immediately!
If you’re approved via a letter in the mail, the countdown to complete the minimum spending starts from the date on the approval letter.
It Does NOT Start on the Activation Date
Lots of folks make the mistake of thinking the minimum spending requirement starts when you activate the card.
That’s not true! And waiting to activate your card will NOT extend the time you have to complete the minimum spending.
And don’t forget, Barclaycard will overnight their credit cards for a ~$30 fee. But when you’re applying for a premium Barclaycard like the Barclaycard Arrival Plus, you can ask to get the fee waived. So you can start working on the Arrival Plus minimum spending requirements sooner rather than later. 😉
Bottom Line
You’ll earn 50,000 Barclaycard Arrival miles when you open a Barclaycard Arrival Plus card and spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 90 days of opening your account. That’s worth $525 in statement credits towards $100+ travel purchases, because you get 5% of your miles back when you redeem them for travel.
The clock starts on the Arrival Plus minimum spending the day you’re approved for the card, NOT when you receive it or activate it! If you’re approved by mail, the countdown starts the date of the approval letter.
