i’m looking at the chase ink card and see it offers a “complimentary trip cancellation/trip interruption insurance”. is this a worthwhile benefit or something that is impossible to get once you read all the fine print?

thanks,

jackie

Hi,

I am a newbie to credit card rewards and bonus. My wife and I have two young children and I was trying to find a plan to be able to travel from LAX to HNL or OGG in November 2016 and was trying to find the most efficient way and stay at the nicest place that I can. We went in November 2014 and stayed at Turtle Bay and Kahala and paid a slightly discounted rate, but I was hoping to stay somewhere comparable using points/rewards.

I just signed up for the Chase Sapphire card today for myself. I was planning on earning the bonus and probably cancel or turn the into a non-annual card. I was then going to sign-up for another card under my wife’s name to earn the bonus again plus authorized user. I was thinking about adding her as an authorized user, but I didn’t want to risk her not being able to get the bonus later.

I read through this website and absorbed as much as I can, but still having a hard time understanding the timing and logistics. As such, a detailed plan would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Hello!

I really enjoy reading your blog and have learned so much so far. Thank you!

Question: when is the best time to cancel credit cards that I have obtained the sign up bonus, but do not plan on keeping it past the one year mark?

For example, if I have a few that I need to cancel, should I do it all in one month versus spreading it out over 6 months?

Thank you so much!

Tiffany

Both my husband and I have Chase Sapphire Preferred as primary and authorized users. Because of Chase new rules (no more than 4 CC applications in 24 mons), I am wondering if we should keep both accounts after the first year. I am planning to keep just one (mine or his) to transfer UR points between us to transfer to airlines/hotels and pay only one AF. Can you think of any benefits especially for a couple to keep both? Do you and Emily have own? Thank you, Daraius!

I wasnt offered it with ardmatch but my mom was offered with not good credit, how funny but I do see the 50,000 at americanexpress.com
