How Does It Work?

If you’ve never used Airbnb before, it’s easy to set-up an account and search for a place to stay.
You can filter results by price, type of accommodation (private room, shared room, or entire place), amenities, and more.
You’ll get a list of rentals including pictures and prices.
You can read reviews of the place and the host. Airbnb has a verification system for both hosts and travelers to keep it safe.
Once you find a rental you are interested in, you can put in a booking request. Airbnb will put you directly in touch with the owner.
To get the 20% reduction, on the check-out screen, click “Coupon Code” and enter the promotional code “20off“ to receive your discount.
You have through November 1, 2014, to use the “20off” coupon.
If your 1st booking is less than $200, you could sign-up for Airbnb using my link and get $25 off instead. These offers can’t be combined. But for stays which cost more than $200, you’re better off not using my link until November 1, 2014!
You won’t be charged until the owner accepts your request.
Remember, this only works for 1st time bookings. If you’ve booked through Airbnb before, you won’t get a discount!

I have friends who have used Airbnb and found it a great way to spend less money while getting a more “local experience” than staying in a hotel. And nearly every Airbnb apartment has free internet!
And some places for rent have washing machines, full kitchens, etc. This can really help you save money on longer stays. And it’s not that unusual to receive a welcome gift such as a bottle of wine.
