If You Have a Citi Card, Watch for Targeted Spending Bonuses to Earn Extra Miles & Points!

Citi kicked off the month with targeted emails for cardholders to earn thousands of bonus miles & points.  Depending on which Citi card you have, you can earn bonuses in certain categories like gas stations and grocery stores, or for spending a minimum amount, within a set timeframe.

For example, some folks report an offer to earn 2,000 American Airlines miles when you spend $200 on the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard®.

But the offers seem to be highly personalized.  A few have already gone out, and Citi seems to be releasing more in waves.  So keep an eye on your inbox!

I’ll share a few offers floating out there right now.  Heck, you might even check your spam folder for these!

Citi Is Sending Targeted Spending Bonuses

So far, folks report the offers were sent to their email inboxes.  And bonuses are for folks with popular cards, including the Citi Prestige, the Citi ThankYou® Preferred Card, and Citi American Airlines cards like the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard®. The information for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select card has been collected independently by Million Mile Secrets. Here are some of the offers so far:

• Earn 5X Citi ThankYou points (up to 2,500 points) at grocery stores, gas stations, drugstores, mass transit & commuter transport with the Citi Prestige
• Earn 5X Citi ThankYou points (up to 2,500 points) at grocery stores, gas stations, and department stores with Citi ThankYou® Preferred Card
• Get 2,000 American Airlines miles when you spend $200 on the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard®
• Get 2,000 American Airlines miles when you spend $1,000 on Citi American Airlines cards

Folks report every variable of these offers can shift.  For example, Citi might want you to spend more (or less!), show different bonus categories, or award more miles.

You might have luck finding and activating these offers by logging into your Citi account.  I didn’t receive any emails.  But when I looked online, I found an offer for 2,500 American Airlines miles for adding an authorized user to my Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard® and spending $3,000.  No thanks!

I’m not sure if every bonus offer will appear here, but then again, I didn’t know this opportunity was on my account until I checked.  So it’s worth taking a peek if you’re curious!

Bottom Line

It’s always nice to get a bonus for spending on a card you already have.  Citi cardholders report targeted email offers to earn bonus miles & points on lots of popular Citi cards.

You might be able to find the offers in your online account.  But it’s worth checking your inbox and keeping an eye out for any special deals that come your way in the next few weeks.
