I’ve written about WOW Air, Iceland’s budget airline. They’re a great option for no-frills flights, with good service and clean planes.
Via Pizza in Motion, WOW Air will begin service to 4 new US cities starting spring 2018. And tickets from these cities are already on sale!
I’ll share more details about these new routes! And remind you of what to look out for when you book a ticket with WOW Air.

Great news for travelers in the Midwest! WOW Air has added 4 new cities to their list of destinations:
- Cincinnati – May 10, 2018
- Cleveland – May 4, 2018
- Detroit – April 26, 2018
- St. Louis – May 17, 2018
All WOW Air flights route through their hub in Reykjavik, Iceland. But they fly to many other destinations in Europe, like Amsterdam, London, and Paris! For example, I found round-trip flights from Cincinnati to London for just $339 in May 2018. That’s a great deal!
Just remember, WOW Air charges fees for seat selection, large carry-on bags, and checked bags. So you’ll get the best deal if you can pack light.
And here’s my trip report from my visit to Iceland, when I learned that Icelanders are some of the nicest folks in the world!
I really like that WOW Air is continuing to grow, because it increases competition, and will hopefully lower the price of airfare to Europe with other airlines! As Pizza in Motion points out, if this trend continues, it might be better to save your miles & points for more expensive airfare to other parts of the world. Spending 60,000 airline miles for a flight you can buy for ~$350 is hardly worth it!
Bottom Line
WOW Air will begin service to Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, and St. Louis beginning in spring of 2018! So more folks than ever can fly to Europe for super cheap! But keep in mind that WOW Air is a no-frills airline, so you’ll have to pay extra if you want to bring a large carry-on bag, check a bag, or even choose your own seat.
Congrats to the folks who live near these cities!
