Stay Twice, Earn Enough Points for a Free Night

Link: Choice Promotion Frequently Asked Questions
The latest promotion from Choice hotels will give you 8,000 Choice points after completing 2 stays. That’s enough for a free night in one of their 1,500+ low-category hotels. Most Choice hotels cost MORE than 8,000 points (and the hotels you CAN book for 8,000 points aren’t always fancy).
This deal is the most valuable for stays that are only 1 night. That’s because you’ll get the same number of bonus points wither your stays are 1 night or 10 nights.
Here are the details of this promotion:
- You must register before your first trip to participate
- You will be awarded a minimum of 5,000 and a maximum of 8,000 bonus points, depending on the number of base points earned from the 2 separate qualifying stays
- Trips booked through 3rd-party sites, at vacation rental property locations, rates less than $40 per night, and stays booked with the “SEGEN” rate code do not qualify for promotional bonus points
- Make sure your rewards earning preference is set to Choice Privileges
- This promotion is valid for stays between March 2, 2017, and April 27, 2017
There is no cap on the amount of bonus points you can earn. As long as you complete 2 stays, you’ll earn 8,000 bonus points!
What Can You Do With Choice Points?
I don’t often talk about Choice points, but they can be very useful! Choice has 6,400+ hotels worldwide, from very economical to ultimate luxury. You can usually find Choice hotels in small towns where you will NOT find chains like Starwood and Hyatt hotels.
If your travel goals are primarily to visit folks for the holidays in smaller communities, you’ll get good use from Choice points. Many are family friendly, and offer free breakfast. And with some of their brands, you can use points to book directly into a suite, even if you don’t have elite status!
Want More Choice Points?
Choice points are easy to earn! The Barclaycard Choice Privileges card comes with 32,000 Choice points after you meet minimum spending requirements. Plus, you can get a $25 statement credit after your first purchase if you make a mock booking on the Choice website. You’ll see a box in the credit card information section offering you the statement credit. You can also transfer AMEX Membership Rewards to Choice at a 1:1 ratio. Or transfer points from Amtrak to Choice at a ratio of 1:3, if you’re an Amtrak Select or Select Plus member (or spend $20,000+ per year on the Bank of America Amtrak World MasterCard).
Note: Through March 31, 2017, any Choice points you transfer to Southwest will qualify towards the Southwest Companion Pass, which I call the BEST deal in travel!Bottom Line
For stays between March 2, 2017, and April 27, 2017, you’ll earn 8,000 points for every 2 stays you complete at Choice Hotels. That’s enough for a free night at any of Choice’s 1,500 low-category hotels.
You can earn this bonus an unlimited amount of times. So if you use Choice hotels a lot, this is a good deal! Otherwise, I wouldn’t switch my hotel stays to Choice just for this promotion.
