Will You Earn Points Using These Gift Cards?
Yes! Because these eGiftCards are treated like cash, you’ll earn Marriott points, credits towards elite status, and points through any Marriott promotions, when you pay for stays booked directly through Marriott with these cards.
But they’re only good for the room rate and taxes, and in-hotel restaurants, spa, and activities.
You’ll also earn points or miles on whatever card you use to buy them!
Just remember, these cards are sold through Daily Getaways and not through Marriott. So they will NOT be considered spending at Marriott…if you were hoping to earn extra Marriott points using your Marriott credit card.
Though folks report Daily Getaways purchases do code as travel. A friend used her Chase Sapphire Preferred card for the recent Choice Hotel points deal and got 2X Chase Ultimate Rewards points.
Note: Marriott states you’ll receive the eGiftCards in 10 to 14 business days. So consider this if you have a stay planned in the next few weeks.Extend Your Trip With Mix & Match Stays
I’ve written before about how to mix & match paid and award stays to extend your vacation. Buying these discounted Marriott gift cards could be a great way to save even more on mix & match stays!
And don’t forget about the Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card. You can earn 80,000 Marriott points when you complete the minimum spending.
And another 7,500 bonus Marriott points when you add an authorized user who makes a purchase within the first 3 months of account opening.
