1.   Amazon Prime Members Get New Discounts at Whole Foods

Link:   Amazon Prime

Nearly 1 year ago, Amazon purchased Whole Foods.  And now, Amazon Prime members will get exclusive discounts for shopping at the popular (and kinda expensive) grocery store.  We don’t know exactly what the discounts will be, but Amazon says Prime members will get an additional 10% off sale items, and “deep discounts” on select bestselling items.

Depending on How Often You Shop at Whole Foods, an Amazon Prime Membership Could Easily Pay for Itself

Florida stores are receiving these new discounts today.  And all Whole Foods stores nationwide will get the discounts this summer.  Just download the Whole Foods app, sign-in with your Amazon account, and scan the Amazon Prime code at checkout to get the special discounts!

Many of the us subscribe to Amazon Prime, because it comes with:

And this Whole Foods discount just sweetens the pot!

2.   No Fees for Certain Plastiq Payments With Masterpass

Link:   Plastiq

Plastiq is a service that lets you use certain credit cards to pay many bills that don’t normally accept a credit card as payment, like a mortgage.  It’s a handy tool for folks who need help meeting minimum spending requirements.  But because they normally charge a 2.5% fee, it’s NOT a good way to generate miles & points on a regular basis.

But through September 30, 2018, you can pay up to $500 in bills with your MasterCard with NO FEES.  But you’ll have to make your payment through Masterpass.  And you must have made at least $500 in payments prior to using this promotion.

There is no limit to how many transactions you can make with this promotion.  So if you can think of any bills you’d like to pay ahead of time, you can earn your bonus points even faster!

Just remember, this is for MasterCard ONLY.

From Masterpass, where I was planning to use my CitiBusiness card:
"Citi Pay℠ only supports Citi Mastercard® credit cards right now"

Can you clarify further how this offer works?

Which offer are you referring to?

The Plastique offer of using Plastique once a day to pay $500/day. When I click through, the site shows a fee. How did you avoid the charge?

First, you'll have to sign up for Masterpass, which is a digital wallet service. Then you can add your credit cards to your Masterpass account. For this promotion, only Mastercards are eligible.

Then you can use Masterpass to make your Plastiq payments. In order to qualify, you'll have had to have made at least $500 in Plastiq payments from your account in the past.

The offer requires a referral code. Does anyone have one?

So, $500 total or $500 per transaction?

It is up to $500 per payment to a business. So you can do multiple payments, but only a single payment to each business or vendor. So you can't break up a mortgage payment into multiple $500 payments. And if the payment exceeds $500, you'll pay a fee on the excess amount.

How do you make a payment via Plastiq AND Masterpass?

Masterpass works like Visa Checkout or AMEX Checkout. It's basically an online wallet/payment service. So you'll use Masterpass (with an eligible Mastercard) to pay through Plastiq.
