Cheap Southwest Fares Are Getting More Expensive, Daily Getaways Returning, Redeem Points for Discounted Gift Cards, & More!

1. Southwest Changes the Value of Their Points
Via View From the Wing, Southwest is slightly increasing the amount of points it will cost for Wanna Get Away fares (the cheapest option). And drastically decreasing the amount of points it will cost for Anytime and Business Select tickets.
Most of us always redeem our points for Wanna Get Away fares. So this is BAD news for us. However, if all the cheap fares are sold out, it will now be less of a bummer if we have to buy an Anytime fare! Because the prices are more reasonable.
2. Bonus Southwest Points With TurboTax

You can earn 1,000 bonus Southwest points when you file your taxes with TurboTax through the Southwest Rapid Rewards portal. The promotion ends on April 17, 2018. Versions that qualify for this deal are:

- TurboTax Self-Employed
3. Daily Getaways Returning Soon

You can save lots of money with the annual Daily Getaways travel deals. This year, Daily Getaways will begin on April 9, 2018, and end on May 8, 2018.
They’ve released a sneak peek of what deals to expect, including:
- 1 night at any Wyndham hotel for $175
- 3 nights at the Bellagio in a suite, including tickets to Cirque du Soleil, dinner, and spa for 2 people for $2,000
- $500 Marriott gift card for $400
- $1,000 Orbitz credit for $650
- 24,000 Hyatt points for $260
In previous years, the best offers have sold out very quickly! But we’ll remind you of the daily discounts throughout the promotion when it arrives. So you can decide which deals you’re interested in.
4. Use Chase Ultimate Rewards Points for Gift Cards
If you have any Chase Sapphire, Chase Ink, or Chase Freedom cards, you can cash them in for gift cards and receive a 10% discount at the following merchants:

- Express
- JCPenney

- Sephora
Some gift cards have limited quantity, so if this deal interests you, you should take advantage of it sooner rather than later. Just go to the Chase Ultimate Rewards site and choose to redeem your points for gift cards.
