You’ll earn 50,000 Citi ThankYou points after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months of account opening.  That’s worth $625 in travel with NO blackout dates when you book through the ThankYou® Travel Center.  And potentially much more if you transfer them to to airline partners!

Emily and I don’t earn a commission on this card, but we’ll always tell you about a good deal!

50,000 Point Offer With Citi ThankYou Premier

Link:   Citi ThankYou® Premier Card

With the Citi ThankYou Premier, you can earn 50,000 Citi ThankYou points after spending $4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening.  This card has recently had NO sign-up bonus.  So this is quite an improvement!

The card also comes with perks like:

  • 3X Citi ThankYou points per $1 spent on travel (including gas stations, airfare, hotels, cruises, car rental agencies, travel agencies, railways, public transportation, tolls, taxis, parking, and more)
  • 2X Citi ThankYou points per $1 spent on dining and entertainment (amusement parks, museums, sporting events, movies, and more)
  • NO foreign transaction fees

The $95 annual fee is waived the first year.

Note:   You can NOT earn the sign-up bonus for any Citi credit card if you’ve either opened or closed a card of the same “brand” in the past 24 months.  So if you’ve opened or closed a Citi ThankYou Premier, Citi Prestige, or Citi ThankYou Preferred card in the past 24 months, you’re not eligible for the bonus on the Citi ThankYou Premier.

Is 50,000 ThankYou Points a Good Deal?

When you have the Citi ThankYou Premier, your ThankYou points are worth 1.25 cents each when you use them to buy travel through the Citi ThankYou portal.  So this sign-up bonus is worth at least $625 in travel!

You can buy things like airfare, hotels, car rentals, and cruises without worrying about blackout dates or finding award seats or nights.  And you’ll earn miles for your flights!

But you can get potentially even more value from your points by transferring them to valuable airline partners, like Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Flying Blue!

A Flying to Europe Can Be Expensive.  Or You Can Transfer Your Points to a Citi ThankYou Partner and Book an Award Flight!

You can also use ThankYou points to buy gift cards and merchandise, but I do NOT recommend this.  You’ll only get a value of 1 cent per point for gift cards, and 0.8 cents per point when you redeem them for merchandise.  You’ll get much more value when you use your points for travel!

Bottom Line

You can now earn 50,000 Citi ThankYou points when you sign-up for the Citi ThankYou Premier and spend $4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of opening your account.

50,000 Citi ThankYou points are worth $625 in travel (airfare, hotels, cruises, and car rentals) when you book through the Citi Travel Center.  Or you can transfer them to airline partners for flights to places like Hawaii and Europe!

You’ll also earn 3X Citi ThankYou points per $1 spent on travel (including gas stations!) and 2X Citi ThankYou points per $1 on dining and entertainment.  And the $95 annual fee is waived the first year!

Emily and I don’t earn a commission for this card, but if it’s a good deal, we’ll tell you about it!
