Good news for folks in Chicago!  Via One Mile at a Time, WOW Air is adding 4 weekly flights between Chicago and Iceland starting July 13, 2017.  One-way fares start at $99!

And you don’t have to stop in Iceland.  You can connect onward to many destinations in Continental Europe, like London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Berlin, from $149 one-way.

I flew WOW Air to Iceland had and a very good experience.  Plus, it’s nice to have more affordable options to get to Europe!

Starting July 13, 2017, WOW Air will fly between Chicago and Iceland 4 times per week.  Fares are as low as $99 one-way in September and October 2017.

Or pay as little as $149 one-way to fly onward to cities like:

  • Amsterdam
  • Barcelona
  • Berlin
  • Brussels
  • Copenhagen
  • Cork
  • Dublin
  • Edinburgh
  • Frankfurt
  • London
  • Paris
  • Stockholm

It’s great when discount airlines like WOW Air launch new routes, because it increases competition and can drive prices down.  That’s great for folks like us!

Just remember, WOW Air charges fees for things like seat selection, large carry-on bags, and checked bags.  So unless you can travel light, it’s worth comparing prices to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

If you’re considering a trip to Iceland, check out my Iceland Trip Report.  Including posts about renting a car in Iceland and why you need a Chip-and-PIN credit card for gas in Iceland.

And don’t forget about WOW Air’s most recent sale, with $200+ round-trip fares from US cities like Miami, New York (EWR), San Francisco, and more!  I checked Google Flights and it looks like there are still sale tickets available. 😉

Bottom Line

WOW Air will begin flying between Chicago and Iceland 4 times per week, starting July 13, 2017.  And you can cheaply connect to other destinations in Europe, too.

Fares to Iceland start at $99 one-way, and to the rest of Europe from $149 one-way.

I’m always happy to hear about new options to Europe, because competition is great for travelers like us!  Just remember, WOW Air charges lots of fees, so it’s worth comparing prices to make sure you’re getting the best deal.
