Hi,

You really have to shop when buying tickets with points. I’m going to South America in the fall. Copa flies 737’s in two classes so business class is tops. Used my Chase card for points to United then partner airline Copa for tickets. Well, it all shows on the screen except that Copa doesn’t release all the seats for award travel. Instead of a 10.5 hour trip home it will be 22.5 with 10 hours at the connection point. Oh well, it was a $2500 ticket for 70,000 miles, that’s 3.5 cents per mile.

Enjoy your daily blog, I’ve learned a lot about free travel. 2 to Alaska, 1 to Haiti, 2 to Texas, 1 to South Africa and 1 to Ecuador, and they are all FREE.

Whoa. Thought that deal was dead, thanks for the heads up. Some friends likely still interested in this.
