Back in March 2014 when we were a couple, Daraius and I flew to India as part of an around-the-world trip for my parents. During our journey, we visited India, the Maldives, and Hong Kong.
We took a 4-day trip to Jaipur, a city in the Northern part of India called Rajasthan. I really like Rajasthan for its historic palaces, extraordinary forts, and excellent shopping. And we even took a picturesque elephant ride! It’s different than anywhere else I’ve traveled, and that’s why I liked it so much!

ITC Rajputana Hotel Room (A Starwood Luxury Collection Hotel)
The ITC Rajputana lobby was beautiful, and I had high expectations for the rooms. We booked the room for 4,000 Starwood points per night (but the price has since gone down to 3,000 Starwood points per night) for a standard room.
The hotel room was also gorgeous and had a modern feel. I would have preferred it to have a slightly more local Indian look, but it was still nice.
We booked a standard king room, which included 1 room as a combination living room / office / bedroom, and a separate bathroom.
There was a king size bed with beautiful wallpaper behind it. I really loved the hanging lights.
Across the room was a TV and a desk.
The desk had a comfortable chair and a pillow.
The furniture was elegant and modern.
The dresser across from the bed had a minibar and a luggage stand built into one.
There was a flat screen TV.
We received slippers in a tray underneath the luggage rack.
I really liked the chaise lounge in the room.
There was a closet that had doors facing the bedroom area and the bathroom.
It was not a walk-in closet, but we could store a lot of our stuff.
In the hallway to the bathroom, there was a tea and coffee station. I liked the decorative flowers on the tea cups.
There was also some framed Indian silver jewelry. Rajasthan is known for their silver jewelry production.
The bathroom was big enough for the both of us.
There was a shower, bathtub, and sink.
There was a window above the bathtub that opened out into the living area. There were plenty of towels.
A rack was on the bathtub too.
Also in the bathroom were 2 terry cloth robes.
The sink had a granite counter-top.
There were 2 drawers. One had lots of amenities.
The other drawer had a blow dryer.
There was a large walk-in shower.
There was a separate toilet area.
You Can Do It, Too!
We spent 12,000 Starwood points (4,000 Starwood points per night) for our 3-night stay at the ITC Rajputana.
Since our trip, the hotel has dropped to a category 1 Starwood hotel. So award nights now cost just 3,000 Starwood points (2,000 Starwood points on weekends).
We used Starwood points earned from our Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express and Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express cards.

Bottom Line
Daraius and I used 4,000 Starwood points per night at the ITC Rajputana. Since our trip, the hotel has gone down a category and now costs only 3,000 Starwood points per night (2,000 points on weekends).
Our hotel room was clean and comfortable, and I especially liked the unique Indian touches! I would stay at this hotel again.
