    Ever had trouble searching for award seats on Oneworld partners like American Airlines, British Airways, Qatar Airways, or Air Berlin?

    If you’re looking for award seats on Oneworld airlines, using Award Finder might help save you time!

    It’s possible to search for available seats directly through airlines’ websites, but it isn’t necessarily easy.

    Because, for example, American Airlines’ site will NOT show you award seats on lots of the Oneworld partner airlines.

    And if you use British Airways’ site to search for award seats, you can’t search flexible travel dates.  And it’s hard to search multi-city itineraries on their site without searching leg-by-leg.

    Here’s where Award Finder comes in handy!

    How to Use Award Finder

    1.   Install Award Finder

    To install Award Finder, click the “Get the Chrome app now!” button on Award Finder’s main page.  Then follow the prompts.  It’s easy!

    Then Award Finder’s search page will pop-up.

    2.   Add Your Frequent Flyer Accounts

    You’ll have to give Award Finder access to your frequent flyer accounts by entering your login and password information.

    To do this, you can click any of the “Set Up” buttons on the page.  They’ll all take you to the same place.

    From there you’ll be able to enter your frequent flyer account information.  You MUST add your account information for whichever airline you want to search.

    To search for Oneworld award seats, you need to (at least!) enter your British Airways (BA) and Qantas (QF) account information, because they’re part of the Oneworld team.  But it doesn’t hurt to add all of your account info for future searches.

    Then click “Sync User Accounts”  and “Save.”

    3.   Search for Award Seats

    After you’ve saved your account information, go back to the search page by clicking “Search” in the top left corner of the page.

    From there, enter your departure and arrival information, including airport, departure date, and number of passengers.

    You’ll also be able to select which airlines you’d like to search for award seats on, and whether you’re looking for coach, Business, or First Class seats.

    Award Finder can search for multiple airports at once, so you can search all of the routes you might be interested in at the same time.

    To enter multiple search destinations, enter each 3-letter airport code separated by commas.

    You can also search multiple days at a time by selecting how many days ahead you want Award Finder to search in the “+Days” box.

    Then click the “Search” button!

    In the example below, I searched for 1 Business Class award seat between Atlanta and Doha, Qatar, on Qatar Airways.  Departing on April 10, 2017, or within 5 days after that date.

    Here’s what I found:

    There are 3 different non-stop coach flights with available award seats from Atlanta to Doha, Qatar, between April 10, 2017, and April 15, 2017.

    4.   Filter Your Search Results

    Award Finder will display ALL available flights, including those on partner airlines or multiple stops, for example, if you don’t narrow down your search with the “Show/Hide Filters” feature.

    When you click the “Show/Hide Filters” button, you’ll be able to select filters like non-stop flights, class of service, and the airline you’d prefer to fly with.

    The Drawbacks

    As with most online tools, there’s always room for improvement!

    It can take a long time for Award Finder to complete a search (like ~30+ minutes!).  So it would be nice if it searched faster.  But it’s still probably quicker than doing the search yourself. 😉

    I also think Award Finder could be confusing for folks who are new to miles & points.  Because they use airline abbreviations and codes like “F”, “J”, an “Y”, to represent coach, Business, and First Class seats, for example.  So you have to be familiar with the lingo. 😉

    Also, there’s no calendar view, like with other award search tools.  And not all airlines are included!

    I’ve written about TravelCodex’s “How Many Miles Award Tool.“  It can help you save time searching for the cheapest award seats.

    And Award Ace, another free tool, that offers many of the same features as Travel Codex’s tool.  But includes more airline mileage programs.

    You can also use paid award search websites like Award Nexus or ExpertFlyer.

    Bottom Line

    Award Finder lets you easily search for award seats on 8 different airlines all in one place.

    It’s especially useful for searching for available oneworld award seats, because it can search the British Airways and Qantas site simultaneously, for award seats on partner airlines like American Airlines and Qatar Airways.

    That said, it will NOT show you how many miles you’ll need.  Like the How Many Miles Award Tool from TravelCodex does.

    And you might also consider using tools such as Award Ace.  Or paid sites like Award Nexus or ExpertFlyer to find available award seats on different airlines at once.
