Are These Offers Worth It?
These welcome bonuses are worth at least $600 to $750. That’s because you can redeem Delta miles for 1 cent each using Pay with Miles. And you can get much more value from them if you book award flights on Delta or their partners!
Delta also offers frequent award ticket sales which can help you stretch the value of your miles further. For example, during a recent sale, you could fly between Chicago and Paris round-trip in coach for 40,000 Delta miles. A ticket like this could easily cost $850+, giving you a value of ~2.13 cents per mile ($850 cash price / 40,000 miles). Much higher than the rate you’ll get by using Pay with Miles.
The other great thing about Delta miles is that they never expire. So you won’t feel pressured to use them shortly after earning a big bonus from offers like these. It’s a nice feature that very few frequent flyer programs offer!
