Delta has deep discounts on award flights to Peru! In fact, these may be the lowest prices we’ve ever seen for flights to the South American country.
This unadvertised sale allows you to book flights for as little as 9,000 miles one-way. Check out the below flight from Boston to Lima for just 9,000 miles one-way. That’s called a steal.

Delta SkyMiles deals
These are among the cheapest awards we’ve ever seen. This isn’t an official sale, so it’s worth checking your preferred routes to see if they are pricing below normal. Because Delta no-longer has an award chart, any flight priced under 20,000 miles one-way is likely a good deal. Flights around the country appear are on sale, like this one from Minneapolis to Lima, for 9,000 miles.
It seems like the deals are available for flights from February through June, according to Frequent Miler.
Poke around the Delta website if you want to find a good deal — it appears that many U.S. cities to Lima are pricing from 9,000-13,000 miles each way.
Note that Machu Pichu is closed to tourists until Feb. 28. International travelers are required to complete a 14-day quarantine after arriving in Peru. If you are going to book this deal, it probably makes sense to book for May or June — hopefully travel restrictions will have eased by then.
Fortunately, Delta allows you to cancel award flights for free. So if your plans do change, you should have no issue getting your miles back.
Earning Delta SkyMiles
If you don’t have any SkyMiles, you earn them from the following cards.
Airline credit cards, like these, are useful if you want to earn Delta miles and perks on Delta flights (to minimize the adverse effects of Basic Economy), like priority boarding, free checked bags and inflight purchase discounts. Just keep in mind that you won’t earn the welcome bonus in time for this particular award sale.
One nice feature of the Delta SkyMiles program is that Delta miles don’t expire, so once you’ve set up a Delta account you don’t need to worry about losing your miles. If you need more Delta SkyMiles in a pinch, you can transfer Amex Membership Rewards points to Delta at a 1:1 ratio.

These flights to Peru represent solid value for your Delta miles. Make sure you do some searching to see if your preferred departure is available for cheap.
