Is the Hilton Double Points Promotion a Good Deal?

Signing up for credit cards through partner links earns us a commission. Terms apply to the offers listed on this page. Here’s our full advertising policy: How we make money.

You can get 2X Hilton points at Hilton hotels from November 1, 2014, through January 31, 2015.

You Can Earn 2X Hilton Points at Hilton Hotels

But should this deal influence whether or not you choose to stay at Hilton?

2X Hilton Points for Hilton Hotel Stays

Link:   2X Hilton points for Hilton hotel stays

You’ll earn 2X Hilton hotel points when you stay at participating Hilton hotels through January 31, 2015.

You have to register for the promotion prior to checking-out.

Hiltons hotels include:

You Get 2X Hilton Points When You Stay at Hilton Hotels, Like the Waldorf-Astoria New York

Bonus points are earned after your 2nd stay.

You can earn unlimited bonus points.  So the more you stay, the more Hilton points you’ll earn.

But not all Hilton hotels are offering double points. You can see the long list of non-participating hotels here.

Is It Worth It?

Normally you earn 10 Hilton points per $1 spent at Hilton hotels.

With this promotion, you’ll earn 20 Hilton points per $1 spent for your 2nd, and following stays.

You’ll Earn 20 Hilton Points for Every $1 You Spend at Hilton Hotels, Like the Hilton Bentley Miami in South Beach, Florida

If you stay at Hilton hotels often, this promotion could be worth it to you. Otherwise, I’d skip it because you don’t get the bonus miles until after your 2nd stay.  This means you have to stay 2 separate times at Hilton hotels to get the bonus miles.

For most folks, the IHG Into the Nights promotion is a better promotion for this quarter.

Bottom Line

You earn 2X Hilton points after your 2nd stay at Hilton hotels through January 31, 2015.

Although you can earn unlimited bonus Hilton points, I’d skip this promotion, unless you regularly stay at Hilton hotels.

Especially because there are lots of ways to earn Hilton points!
