Hilton is working hard to win you over! They are targeting some folks for a 50,000 Hilton point bonus after only 4 stays!
If you are eligible, you’ll need to register by July 16, 2018, and complete the 4 stays with 90 days of registering. So if you have paid Hilton stays planned for the summer, you’ll want to hold off on registering until within 90 days of your stays.
And Hilton is extending their status match offer. Hilton will match you to Gold or Diamond status if you have a corresponding status with another hotel loyalty program, like Starwood, Marriott, IHG, Hyatt, Choice, etc. You’ll need to send proof of your other hotel status and proof of a stay with that hotel in the past 12 months.
If you qualify, you’ll be given Gold or Diamond status for 90 days. And you can extend your Hilton elite status until March 31, 2019! For Gold status, you will need to complete 4 stays in the first 90 days. And for Diamond status, you’ll need to complete 8 stays within the first 90 days.
Is This a Good Deal?
The 50,000 Hilton points bonus is a great opportunity if you are eligible because you could combine it with other Hilton promotions! Hilton points are generally worth ~0.5 cents a point, so 50,000 Hilton points is like getting a ~$250 bonus after only 4 stays!
The Hilton status match is a nice opportunity if you have Hilton stays planned. Hilton has been making improvements to their loyalty program, including the option for free breakfast at their top-tier properties for Gold & Diamond elites.
And don’t forget, you can get Hilton elite status simply by having the right credit card. For example, The Platinum Card® from American Express comes with Hilton Gold status.
Hilton hotels include:
- Conrad
- Canopy
- Curio
- DoubleTree
- Embassy Suites
- Hampton Inn
- Hilton
- Hilton Garden Inn
- Hilton Grand Vacations
- Home2Suites
- Homewood Suites
- Tru
- Waldorf Astoria
Hilton hotels are conveniently located and have lots of different brands directed at different kinds of travelers. Hilton is one of the biggest hotel chains, so there’s likely a Hilton hotel nearby, no matter where you’re traveling!

There are plenty of ways to earn Hilton points. The fastest way is to apply for the AMEX co-branded credit cards, like the no-annual-fee Hilton Honors Card from American Express.
Or, you can transfer miles & points to Hilton. Both Virgin Atlantic miles, and Hawaiian Airlines miles transfer to Hilton at a 2:3 ratio. And AMEX Membership Rewards recently improved their Hilton transfer ratio!
Bottom Line
Hilton is trying to win your loyalty with 2 promotions!
If you’re targeted for the first promotion, you can earn 50,000 Hilton points after completing only 4 stays within 90 days of registering! You have until July 16, 2018, to register for this promotion.
And Hilton is also extending its status match promotion. If you have elite status with another hotel chain you can have it matched to Hilton Gold or Diamond status for 90 days. And you can extended your status until March 31, 2019. You’ll need 4 stays for to extend Gold status or 8 stays to extended Diamond status.
