Via One Mile at a Time, Hilton has released the details on their first promotion of 2018!

With the Points Unlimited promotion, you can earn a 2,000 Hilton point bonus per stay and an extra 10,000 Hilton points for every 5 stays.  As the name suggests, there is NO limit to the number of points you can earn!

The promotion runs from January 1 to April 30, 2018.

I Love Using Hilton Points to Get Free Nights in Expensive Cities, Like New York

Here are the details of this deal!

Bonus Points With Every Hilton Stay

From January 1 to April 30, 2018, you can earn 2,000 bonus Hilton points per stay and 10,000 more Hilton points for every 5 stays you make.  You must register for this promotion to qualify.

If you plan on making 5 Hilton stays during the promotion, that averages out to 4,000 Hilton points per stay (2,000 points per stay X 5 nights + 10,000 bonus points / 5 nights).  That’s a nice bonus if you were already planning on making those stays.  But I don’t think it will be enough to get me to change my travel plans to stay at more Hilton hotels.

Hilton Hotels Are Convenient Because They Have Locations Everywhere. Even Tel Aviv, Israel!

Hilton points are generally worth ~0.5 cents each.  But they can be worth more or less, depending on where you stay!  But earning 2,000 Hilton points is generally worth ~$10 (2,000 Hilton points X 0.5 cents each).

If you have Hilton stays planned anyway, this is a nice bonus.  If not, make sure to take a look at other current hotel promotions, to make sure there isn’t a deal that better fits your goals!

For example, yesterday Starwood & Marriott announced their first promotions for next year.  And I find Starwood-Marriott points to be more useful than Hilton points.

Hilton hotels include:

Hilton hotels are conveniently located, and have lots of different brands directed at different kinds of travelers.  Hilton is one of the biggest hotel chains, so there’s likely a Hilton hotel nearby, no matter where you’re traveling!

Hilton points are not nearly as valuable as hotel points you’ll earn at other hotels, like Hyatt and Starwood.  But you can earn Hilton points MUCH faster than many other hotel chains.

More Ways to Earn Hilton Points

There are plenty of ways to earn Hilton points.  The fastest way is to apply for credit cards, like the no-annual-fee Hilton Honors Card from American Express.

Or, you can transfer other miles & points to Hilton.  AMEX Membership Rewards points, Virgin Atlantic miles, and Hawaiian Airlines miles transfer to Hilton at a 2:3 ratio.

Bottom Line

From January 1 to April 30, 2018, Hilton is running the Points Unlimited promotion.

Once you register, you can earn a 2,000 Hilton point bonus per stay.  And you’ll earn an extra 10,000 Hilton points for every 5 stays you make.  There is no limit to the number of points you can earn.

If you’ve got Hilton stays planned for that time period, this is a good deal.  But I won’t be changing my plans to stay at more Hilton hotels because of this promotion.  Either way, I suggest signing-up because you never know when your plans might change!
