If you’re planning a road trip, family reunion, or prefer budget-friendly hotels, there’s a great new promotion for summer travel from Best Western!
Via Frequent Flyer Bonuses, you’ll earn a $10 Best Western travel card for each eligible night you stay at Best Western hotels from May 22, 2017, to September 4, 2017.
And the deal is even sweeter for folks with a AAA or CAA membership. They’ll earn a $20 Best Western travel card for each eligible night they stay in the same timeframe.
This is an excellent deal, because previous promotions would award a bonus based on stays, not nights. But you must register before you stay to earn a travel card.
I’ll explain the details and help you decide if it’s worth switching paid stays to Best Western!

Best Western hotels aren’t usually fancy, but most are relatively inexpensive. And you can find them just about anywhere, from large cities to small towns off the beaten path. And they’re super-convenient for families, because many have pools, and everyone gets free breakfast. Plus, Best Western Rewards members (free to join) already earn at least 10% off the best flexible rate.
Note: Only stays booked through Best Western directly (and not 3rd party sites like Orbitz or tour operators) will qualify for this promotion. Here are the terms of each deal:
1. Best Western Summer Promotion for Regular Members
- Earn a $10 Best Western travel card each night of an eligible stay from May 22, 2017, to September 4, 2017
- You must register prior to your first night to earn the bonus
- Nights which take place during the promotion period, but which have a check-in or a check-out date that overlaps the beginning or ending of the promotion period, are eligible to earn a travel card
- North American Best Western Rewards members can stay at any Best Western hotel worldwide to qualify, but international members can only earn the bonus on stays at North American Best Western hotels
- Travel cards will be sent via email within 2 weeks of an eligible night
- Travel cards must be used within 120 days of issue, and you can use more than one travel card to pay for a future stay
- There’s no limit to the number of travel cards you can earn
2. Best Western Summer Promotion for AAA / CAA Members
- AAA or CAA members earn a $20 Best Western travel card each night of an eligible stay from May 22, 2017, to September 4, 2017
- You must register prior to your first night to earn the bonus

Getting a $10 or $20 rebate per night off an already inexpensive stay is a fantastic deal. But keep in mind, you’ll earn a Best Western travel card which can only be used at Best Western hotels within 120 days of issue. So if you don’t have travel plans in the near future, this promotion isn’t worth it.
Other Promotions Might Be a Better Deal
There’s already a promotion running where you’ll earn 1,000 bonus American Airlines miles per stay at Best Western hotels. You can NOT stack this deal with the new promotion.
According to a Best Western representative, you can only participate in one promotion at a time. So the latest promotion you’ve registered for will be active in your account.
You might also consider current deals from other chains, which earn bonus points instead of travel cards. Starwood, Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, IHG, Hyatt, and Choice Hotels each have current promotions which might make more sense for your travel goals.
Bottom Line
From May 22, 2017, to September 4, 2017, you can earn a $10 travel card for each eligible night you stay at Best Western hotels.
And if you’re a AAA or CAA member, you’ll earn a $20 Best Western travel card for each eligible night! But to get in on these deals, you must register before your first stay.
Best Western hotels are usually inexpensive, so this is a terrific way to save even more. But keep in mind the travel cards are only valid for 120 days from the date of issue. So if you don’t have travel plans in the near future, it doesn’t make sense to participate in this deal.Instead, check out promotions from Starwood, Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, IHG, Hyatt, and Choice Hotels to make the most of your paid stays this summer!
