Million Mile Secrets reader, Sanjay e-mailed about Ritz-Carlton credit card benefits:

Can the Chase Ritz-Carlton $300 annual travel credit be used towards baggage fees on foreign airlines when neither the origin or destination is in the US?

Great question, Sanjay!

The answer is yes!  The $300 annual travel credit is one of the Chase Ritz-Carlton card’s many terrific benefits.  Because getting a statement credit for baggage fees helps offset the card’s annual fee.

With the Chase Ritz-Carlton card, you can earn a $300 annual travel credit each calendar year for qualifying airline purchases, which includes:

There are no restrictions on which airline you use to make these purchases.  But unlike other credit cards, you won’t get an automatic statement credit for travel purchases.

Instead, you’ll have to call Chase directly to request the credit for your qualifying airline purchases.

So if Sanjay pays baggage fees on an international airline with his Ritz-Carlton card, he’ll have to contact Chase to request the credit.

Remember, to qualify for the credit, you must contact Chase within 4 billing cycles of the charge appearing on your statement.
