I enjoy hearing from y’all about how you like to use miles & points.  So I loved reading your comments from our recent JetBlue giveaway!

We asked you to tell us what your favorite airline miles are and why.  And we received a lots of great responses!
Lots of Folks Like Using Alaska Airlines Miles for Flights on Cathay Pacific in First Class!

The giveaway is now closed.  But here’s a list of Million Mile Secrets readers’ favorite types of airline miles. 😉

1.   Southwest

Lots of y’all expressed your love for Southwest.  Especially because of their generous refund policy!

Readers like that if the cost of a Southwest flight goes down, you can cancel and re-book at the lower price…for free!  And because you cancel non-refundable tickets (Wanna Get Away fares) without a fee, as long as you cancel at least 10 minutes prior to departure.  Plus, the value of the ticket can be used towards another flight within 1 year of the original ticket’s date of issue.

Plus, Southwest offers the best deal in travel, the Southwest Companion Pass, which Rich and Kristy like to use!

2.   JetBlue

As for JetBlue, Million Mile Secrets readers Tristan and Tim like their roomy Mint Business Class seats.

And Kenneth likes that the price of a JetBlue award ticket is based on the cash price of the ticket.  Because he can use fewer miles for flights when JetBlue’s prices go down.

3.   United Airlines

Some readers commented they prefer United Airlines because of their good award seat space.  And because they operate lots of flights from their home airports.

Josh likes United Airlines because they’re one of Chase’s transfer partners.  So he can transfer the Chase Ultimate Rewards he earns to United Airlines for Big Travel!

And readers Lily and Jeanne like using United Airlines miles for international flights, like flying Lufthansa between San Francisco and Germany.

4.   Delta

Reader Gene focuses on collecting Delta miles because he lives near one of Delta’s hubs.  Plus, he appreciates the airlines’ punctuality!

JJ likes that Delta miles never expire.  And sometimes uses them to book more spacious Delta’s Comfort+ seats.

While Chris appreciates that Delta has lots of partners.  Because it makes it easier to find award seats from his home airport!

5.   Alaska Airlines

One of the main reasons folks like Alaska Airlines miles is because you can use them to fly First Class on Cathay Pacific.  That’s just one of the many great ways to use Alaska Airlines miles!

Emily and I flew Cathay Pacific First Class from Hong Kong to the US, and loved the spacious suites, pajama sets, and amenity kits!

6.   American Airlines

Folks also like American Airlines miles!

Reader John likes using his American Airlines miles to fly between Los Angeles and New York to visit his family.

And Oliver uses his American Airlines miles for international flights!

Jamil has used his American Airlines miles to visit friends and family in Pakistan.  And wants to one day treat his wife to a tropical getaway using American Airlines miles!

7.   British Airways

British Airways Avios points were another favorite among Million Mile Secrets readers.

Both Bret and Andrew like to use them for short-haul flights.

And Saer has used his British Airways Avios points to fly to Brazil twice!
