5 Wonderful Hilton Hotels in Asia Where You Can Stay With Your Certificates
1. China: Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund
Link: Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund
Emily and I visited Hong Kong in 2013, but we have yet to see Shanghai! When we go, we’d love to stay at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund. It was opened in 2011 and part of the hotel includes the former Shanghai Club, which was once the most exclusive British club in Shanghai.
The hotel is well known for its historic Long Bar and excellent fine dining. I might have to visit just for the food!
The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund is a Hilton category 9 hotel. Award nights usually cost 70,000 Hilton points. I checked the cost of a paid night in August, and it costs 2,300 Chinese yuan or ~$371 per night for a standard room.
Using your 2 weekend night certificates here could get you a stay worth ~$742!
2. Indonesia: Conrad Bali
Link: Conrad Bali
If you’re looking for an exotic getaway, the Conrad Bali is different because it’s deeply influenced by Balinese culture. Known as the Island of the Gods, Bali is famous for its temples, traditional dancing, arts and crafts, and Hindu religious traditions.
If you’d prefer a break from the beach and pool, you may want to visit Pura Bratan, a water temple on a lake in the mountains.
The Conrad Bali is a Hilton category 7 hotel, and usually costs 50,000 Hilton points per night. A paid stay in October only costs $255 per night (since prices in Bali are typically cheaper than other areas of Asia).
So if you use your 2 weekend night certificates here, you’d get a stay worth $510.
3. Japan: Conrad Tokyo
Link: Conrad Tokyo
The Conrad Tokyo is 1 of Hilton’s best known (and highest rated) hotels. It’s located in Tokyo’s Minato district, close to shopping, dining, historic shrines, and the Imperial Palace.
If you time a spring visit right, you could take part in cherry blossom viewing or hanami, a Japanese national pastime.
The Conrad Tokyo is a top-tier Hilton category 10 hotel. Award nights here normally cost 95,000 Hilton points. And in May, a paid room costs 42,000 Japanese yen per night, or ~$350.
In this example, you’d get $700 value by using your Hilton 2 weekend night certificates.
4. Maldives: Conrad Maldives Rangali Island
Link: Conrad Maldives Rangali Island
I can’t say enough about the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island! Emily and I visited there with our families last year, and it was incredible. And our folks are still talking about it!
There’s lots to do at the resort, including snorkeling, sailing, and scuba diving. Emily and her folks tried out the snorkeling!
The Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is 1 of Hilton’s most expensive hotels. It’s a Hilton category 10, and a standard king beach villa costs 95,000 Hilton points per night, or $1,340!
However, we treated Emily’s family to an upgraded overwater bungalow. You can read about how in this post!
I can’t think of anywhere else you’d get more value for your 2 weekend night certificates. A 2-night stay here could be worth $2,680! That’s an amazing deal from 1 credit card sign-up!
5. Thailand: Conrad Koh Samui
Link: Conrad Koh Samui
Koh Samui is an island in Thailand and can be reached by plane from Bangkok. The Conrad Koh Samui is an exclusive resort, located on 1 of Koh Samui’s famous white sand beaches. The resort is made up of villas, and a standard room here comes with 1 bedroom and an ocean view!
Note: You can NOT book the Conrad Koh Samui Residences with the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve weekend night certificates. This is a top-tier Hilton category 10 hotel, and normally costs 95,000 Hilton points per night. A paid night in December costs 24,000 Thai baht, or ~$741.
By using your 2 weekend night certificates, you’ll get a value of ~$1,482!
How Do You Use the Hilton Weekend Night Certificates?
You’ll earn the 2 weekend night certificates after you spend $2,500 in the 1st 4 months of opening your Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve account.
Hilton will email your certificates within 6 to 8 weeks of meeting the minimum spending requirement. But to book a room, you have to call Hilton at 800-446-6677.
There are a few other details to keep in mind:
- The certificates are valid for 12 months from the date they’re issued
- They can only be used for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night stays
- Only the primary cardholder can use the certificates
- The room rate and taxes are included, but gratuities, incidental charges, and resort fees are NOT (although some folks report certain hotels will waive the resort fee!)
- You can only book a standard room (not a premium room or suite) with these certificates
If you accidentally delete the email (or don’t receive it), don’t worry – the certificates should still show up in your Hilton account when you call them!
Note: With the limited-time promotion for the $100 statement credit, you must spend at least $100 on your 1st Hilton stay within 3 months of opening your account.Bottom Line
You’ll often get an amazing value using the 2 weekend night certificates from the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card at hotels in Asia.
And you can even use them to book rooms at top category Conrad hotels in Japan, Maldives, and Thailand!
