Video Tour of Our Park Deluxe Room at the Park Hyatt, Paris

Daraius:  On Monday, we got a call from the front desk asking when we’d be moving rooms from the Park Suite to the Park Deluxe room. I had booked the 1st two nights using the 2 free nights from the Chase Hyatt credit card in a Suite as a Hyatt Diamond member, but had booked the next 5 days using Hyatt points which I transferred from Chase Ultimate Rewards.  I could have paid 33,000 points a night (instead of 22,000 points) per night to book a Park Suite, but I decided to take a chance that the hotel would let us stay in the same room.

Unfortunately, the hotel was full so we couldn’t stay in the suite.  We went to the front desk after returning from sightseeing and got the key to the new room.  The front desk agent was extremely apologetic for the inconvenience, and told us that our new room was a Park Deluxe King which was one level above the Park Queen room which we had booked using points.

She also offered to send a bellhop to help us move, which we declined, since our new room was on the same floor and it was easier for us to move our stuff ourselves.

Emily Jablon:  The bedroom area of the Park Deluxe room was only just a bit smaller than the bedroom area of the Park Suite.

We got another box of 4 yummy chocolates!

The bed was the same size as the one in the Park Suite, a king. It also had the same luxurious bedding.

However, the bathroom was much smaller than the bathroom in the suite.  We had to share one small sink (instead of 3!) so we’d take turns getting ready in the morning.

The bathroom was well lit and bright, but the amenity bottles were smaller (50 ml) than those in the suite (80 ml).

There was one bathtub…

…and one shower area. Emily Jablon:  I prefer closed-in showers because I felt a cold draft in this one (only one side is enclosed).

However, there was a vanity with a mirror in the shower, so it was convenient for Daraius to shave in the mornings.

Daraius:  Convenient, yes.  But I wasn’t given a choice where to shave!

There was a storage rack opposite the sink.

And there were bathrobes and towel warmers.

The layout of the main room was similar to the suite, with two chairs and a table.

There was also a Nespresso machine and a kettle for tea.

The room also had a desk and flat screen TV.

Daraius: The room was huge by Paris standards and the next 5 days flew by! Emily Jablon:  It was really nice to stay in such a comfortable room using points.
