Before working at Million Mile Secrets, I spent my time as a resume writer.

Being a resume writer is sort of like owning a pickup truck.  EVERYONE wants your help when they’re moving.

And as my friends move from job to career, they usually ask for a new resume.  Sometimes they offer to pay, and sometimes not.  Regardless, I’ve gladly written them for free.

But the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card has me rethinking this philanthropy.  It’s time to set up shop.

With One Simple Change, I Could Be Back Voyaging the Caribbean Sea – for ZERO MONEY

See, I don’t own a small business.  So I don’t qualify for small business credit cards.

That’s an idiotic amount of miles & points I’m leaving on the table.  I just tallied up the small business card welcome bonuses on our Hot Deals page, and it comes to almost 1 million points.

Even if I was a miles & points newbie, I could still probably manage to get $12,000 in travel from those business credit card bonuses without spending hours and hours figuring out the best use for them.  And as a miles & points veteran, I could get a WHOLE LOT more than that.  Like several times more.

The Ink Business Preferred is the undisputed best small business credit card on that page.  That’s not my opinion, that’s just how God made it.  It comes with 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after meeting minimum spending requirements, excellent bonus categories, cell phone insurance of up to $600, and plenty more.

80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points is enough for 1 round-trip transatlantic Business Class flight to Spain on Iberia.  Or 4 nights at the Park Hyatt Mallorca.  Or ~$1,200 in free flights on Southwest.  Or $800 in cash.

I Could Use the Ink Business Preferred Sign-Up Bonus for 4 Nights at the 5-Star Park Hyatt Mallorca.  My Friend Visited Last Year and Still Talks About It

Read our review of the Ink Business Preferred here to see just how great it is.

The big thing preventing me from applying is not owning a small business.  But it’s been under my nose the entire time.  If I begin charging for my resume writing services, I immediately have a small business.  I could use the Ink Business Preferred to pay for my internet bill, and grow my business by using it for advertising purchases on social media while getting 3 points per $1!

This would uncork Huge Travel in my life.

All anyone needs to be eligible for a small business credit card is a for-profit venture.  You don’t need any minimum business income, and you don’t need an LLC.  Just apply as a sole proprietor by using your Social Security Number on the application!  Of course, the credit card issuer has the final say, and they can still decline your application if they don’t like what you’re bringing to the table.

If you’re making money on the side, you have a small business.  It could be projects like:

  • Selling items on eBay or Etsy
  • Childcare
  • Coaching
  • Writing resumes

Several folks on the Million Mile Secrets team already use the Ink Business Preferred for their side businesses:

It took me a surprising amount of time to recognize the small business angle in my life.  It’s totally legit!  And many of you furnaces of ambition out there may very well have similar legitimate businesses in your life.

If you’re trying to grow this area of your life and earn Big Travel all the while, opening small business card can unlock 1 million points.  Seriously, count them.  And take advice from the miles & points savants at Million Mile Secrets:   Start with the Ink Business Preferred.
