I travel a lot, and I try to get as much work done as I can while on the road (or in the sky!).

Because of this, I really appreciate airport lounge access.  It gives me a relatively quiet place to work, with plenty of space, plenty of outlets, and plenty of free Wi-Fi!

Airport Lounges Are Convenient for a Worker on the Go – And Anyone Else for That Matter!

I recently visited the AMEX Centurion Lounge in San Francisco.  I’ll give you a quick review!

AMEX Centurion Lounge, San Francisco

After landing at the airport, I decided to stick around a while and find the San Francisco Centurion Lounge.  The Centurion Lounge Collection is very small, so I like to take advantage of them when I’m in the neighborhood!

Beautiful Entrance to a Beautiful Lounge

The Centurion Lounge is located on the lower level of Terminal 3.  I used my Mercedes-Benz Platinum card to get in.

I was very surprised at how busy the lounge was.  Lounges are usually an escape from the crowded terminal, but there seemed to be just as many people in the lounge!

Feast Upon Wi-Fi & Wine at Centurion Lounge San Francisco

The Centurion Lounge was filled with great amenities, like high-speed Wi-Fi, a shower, and a premium bar with nationally recognized mixologists.

There is even a wine-tasting machine along the wall!  There are multiple spouts with wine bottles displayed beside them.  If you ask a bartender, he will give you a wine-tasting ticket which you can scan 5 times for a free automated wine-tasting experience!

There was a large self-serve drink station too, with an espresso machine, hot water, and iced drinks.

All I really wanted was a cheap meal and a quick rest before heading into the city.  They only had 1 vegetarian option, but I ate multiple servings! 😉  And there were plenty of sides to fill me up.

They have an open kitchen where you can see the food being prepared.  I like the substantial food Centurion Lounges serve their guests.  They usually have full meals, like pizza and pasta dishes, instead of the cheese and crackers I find in other lounges.

How to Find the Lounge

The lounge is in Terminal 3 between United Airlines gates 73 and 74.  Terminal 3 is only attached to International Terminal G.  But you can visit the lounge no matter what terminal you’re departing from as long as you have a same-day boarding pass.

If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend checking one out!

Which Credit Cards Get You Inside a Centurion Lounge?

Lots of folks who have never entered an airport lounge ask me what’s beyond those mysterious glass doors.

The reality is, it’s not hard to get airport lounge access!  There are several credit cards that grant you entry, like the Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express, which comes with access to Delta Sky Club.

There are only a few cards that will give you access to Centurion Lounges:

Most Travelers Agree That AMEX Centurion Lounges Are Higher Quality Than Other US Lounges

You can also buy passes to a Centurion Lounge on the day of your travel for $50, but you must have an American Express card.

Bottom Line

The San Francisco Centurion Lounge is terrific.  You get Wi-Fi, a premium bar, and more.  On the downside, it was crowded when I visited.

You can get into these lounges with certain American Express cards.

I enjoyed loading up on the food included with Centurion Lounge access!
