Starting today, you’ve got more options for redeeming your Hyatt points!
Last year, I told you that Hyatt added Oasis home rentals to its portfolio. And via View From the Wing, Oasis has finally joined the World of Hyatt Loyalty program. So you’ll be able to use your Hyatt points at thousands of different handpicked home rentals in 20+ cities worldwide, like Austin, Barcelona, Chicago, and Paris!
And you’ll be able to earn Hyatt points and elite status for your stays! But booking free nights with Oasis will work differently than the standard Hyatt award chart.
Here’s what you need to know!
Hyatt Adds Oasis Home Rentals
Hyatt has welcomed the upscale home rental site Oasis into the World of Hyatt program. This is great news for folks who want to earn Hyatt elite status, but prefer staying in homes over hotels.
Oasis has homes available in these 20+ cities:
- Austin
- Barcelona
- Bogotá
- Buenos Aires
- Cartagena
- Chicago
- Ibiza
- London
- Los Angeles
- Madrid
- Mexico City
- Miami
- Milan
- New York City
- Paris
- Punta del Este
- Rio de Janeiro
- Rome
- San Francisco
- Santiago
- São Paulo
- Trancoso
All Oasis homes will include in-person check-in and check-out, fresh linens, luxury toiletries, Wi-Fi, and on-demand concierge services. And folks with Hyatt elite status will receive a welcome amenity at check-in, and will be able to request a late check out (2 pm for Discoverist & Explorist, 4 pm for Globalist).
Is This a Good Deal?
Hyatt has a generous award chart, which makes Hyatt points some of the most valuable! But redeeming points for stays at Oasis homes works a little differently.
When you redeem Hyatt points for Oasis stays, you can redeem 15,000 Hyatt points and receive a $200 credit toward your stay. That’s a value of ~1.33 cents per point ($200 credit / 15,000 points). But you can get more from your points in certain situations.
For example, the Park Hyatt Sydney can easily sell rooms for $750+ per night. But it costs just 30,000 Hyatt points for a free night. That’s a value of 2.5 cents per point ($750 per night / 30,000 points), which is a much better value for your points!
But if you are traveling with a large group or family, staying in a home might be preferable to a hotel. So it’s nice to have that option. And for folks who need long-term accommodations, you can earn valuable Hyatt points on your home stays now!
Plus, until June 30, 2018, you can earn 1,000 bonus Hyatt points per night stayed at an Oasis location. And because Oasis is part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection, you’ll be able to earn an additional 1,000 points per night with Hyatt’s More Bonus Points promotion (up to 25,000 points) through May 15, 2018.

Hyatt is my favorite hotel chain. And I love to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt for free hotel stays.
Remember, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt for an award stay if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, Ink Business Preferred Credit Card, or (no longer offered) Ink Bold card or Ink Plus card.
And if you have one of the cards listed above, you can indirectly transfer points earned from the Chase Freedom, Chase Freedom Unlimited, and Ink Business Cash Credit Card, too!
You can also open the Chase Hyatt card to earn a bunch of Hyatt points in a hurry! This card is NOT affected by Chase’s strict application rules.
Bottom Line
Hyatt has added the Oasis upscale home rentals to their World of Hyatt loyalty program. Now you’ll be able earn and use Hyatt points for home stays!
But using your points for Oasis stays works differently than free hotel nights. You’ll get $200 in credits toward your stay for every 15,000 Hyatt points you redeem. So it’s NOT the best deal for everybody.
That said, I’m ALWAYS excited to have more ways to use my miles & points.
And for a limited time, you can stack Hyatt promotions to earn bonuses for you Oasis stay. Until June 30, 2018, you can earn 1,000 bonus Hyatt points per night stayed at an Oasis location. And through May 15, 2018, you’ll be able to earn an additional 1,000 points per night with Hyatt’s More Bonus Points promotion!
