Ah, rats I missed this one, yet a comment — and hope you see this Daraius….

Have you actually been to Aruba lately? That’s a gorgeous ocean view you post…… but for most travelers to Aruba these days, it’s been grotesquely marred by the presence of two to three drilling ships at work, just off-shore…. (they’ve been there for over a year now)

have seen conflicting reports of just why they’re there…. with some saying they’re merely being “parked” while waiting assignments. (if true, why the blazes in Aruba??) Other reports though suggest we have real drilling going on….. as (according to some reports I saw) Aruba apparently calculated that they needed to “diversify” their tiny island economy — and worse, they’ve been getting pressured badly by nearby Venezuela….. (and Russians too)

But oh my, what a gamble! The price of oil has been cut by over half since they started this gambit….. and imagine what one oil spill or even “routine seepage” will do to those pristine beaches….

ah, sorry to “ruin” your tourism/PR vacation brochure picture….. But this deserves to be known. (one of two things that marred our first visit to Aruba last fall)
