For a limited time, Virgin Atlantic is offering a status match to Virgin Atlantic Silver or Gold status, if you can prove you have elite status with certain airlines, including:
- British Airways
- American Airlines
- United Airlines
- Emirates
- Etihad
- Jet Airways
- Cathay Pacific
- South African Airways
Whether you’ll get Silver or Gold status with Virgin Atlantic depends on which elite status level you have with one of the qualifying airlines.
For example, you need Executive Platinum status with American Airlines to get matched to Gold elite status with Virgin Atlantic.
To get the status match, you’ll need to send the following information to Flying.Club.Support.UK@fly.virgin.com:
- Proof of your elite status with a qualifying airline (like an account statement)
- Your Virgin Atlantic frequent flyer number
- Proof of a future reservation with Virgin Atlantic
Is It Worth It?
If you qualify, getting a status match is a no-brainer. Because it only takes a couple of minutes, and you never know when a travel opportunity might come up!That said, Virgin Atlantic Silver Elite status isn’t that great. You’ll get benefits like priority check-in and the ability to select your seat in advance.
