Since the holidays are coming up, I’m thinking about a unique place where my family and I can go to celebrate and enjoy the winter season together. I’ve never stayed in a mountain resort with skiing and snowboarding, and it seems like a fun place to go.
Lake Tahoe has a few Hyatts (my favorite hotel chain!) and I love how I can easily transfer my Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt.
Here are 3 Hyatt hotels I found in the Lake Tahoe area! If you’re interested in booking these hotels, reserve your nights on points soon, because lots of people are booking this popular destination for the winter season.
3 Amazing Hotels in Lake Tahoe You Can Book With Chase Points
1. Hyatt Residence Club Lake Tahoe, High Sierra Lodge – 30,000 Points/Night or $289
The Hyatt Residence Club Lake Tahoe, High Sierra Lodge is already booked up for the 2018-2019 winter season, but keep this hotel on your radar for next year (or the summer if you prefer). Rooms become available when the owners are not using them. Don’t waste time searching the Hyatt website–call Hyatt and they can easily and quickly search their inventory.
2. Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino – 20,000 Points/Night or $188
The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino is available for 20,000 points per night, or 10,000 points per night + $125. The hotel has cottages, suites, and rooms. I called and found availability for a 1-bedroom suites with a sofa-bed in the living room for 32,000 points per night.
The hotel’s location is perfect for exploring Lake Tahoe. There’s complimentary shuttle service to and from Diamond Peak Ski Resort during the snow season. They also have a Camp Hyatt for kids ages 5 to 12, and family fire pits to enjoy hot chocolate and s’mores. Again, it may be best to call Hyatt to help you find availability during the busy tourist season.
3. Hyatt Place Reno-Tahoe Airport – 8,000 Points/Night or $171
The Hyatt Place Reno-Tahoe Airport for 8,000 points per night is a great choice. It is super close to the Reno Airport, so it won’t have that beautiful setting that other more expensive hotels will have. But you can’t beat the 8,000 points per night price tag! The rooms are similar to what you’d find at other Hyatt Place hotels. They feature a separate living area with a sofa, a bedroom area, and bathroom.
Low on Hyatt Points? Earn up to 60,000 Points With 1 Credit Card!
Hyatt is my personal favorite hotel chain where I can use points. I’ve stayed in dozens of Hyatt hotels around the world, including the Park Hyatt Place Vendome in Paris, the Park Hyatt Milan (my personal favorite), and the Andaz 5th Avenue in New York City.

- 40,000 Hyatt points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of opening your account
- Another 20,000 Hyatt points after you spend a total of $6,000 on purchases within the first 6 months of opening your account
60,000 Hyatt points is enough for:
- 2 nights at the Hyatt Residence Club Lake Tahoe, High Sierra Lodge
- 3 nights at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino or
- 7 nights at the Hyatt Place Reno-Tahoe Airport
