Yesterday I told you about a new AMEX Delta credit card. And the Blue Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express is now available!
Here’s more information about the card’s benefits and restrictions.

The Blue Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express comes with 10,000 Delta miles after spending $500 in the first 3 months of opening your account. It also comes with:
- 2 Delta miles per $1 at US restaurants
- 2 Delta miles per $1 with Delta
- 1 Delta mile everywhere else
- 20% off eligible in-flight Delta purchases
- NO annual fee (See Rates & Fees)
- Secondary rental car coverage
- Travel accident insurance
- Terms & Limitations apply
I like that this card earns 2X Delta miles at US restaurants because no other Delta credit card has that bonus category. So if you eat at restaurants often, this card will come in especially handy!
But it’s important to note that you can NOT earn this welcome bonus if you’ve ever had the Delta SkyMiles® Options Credit Card. And you won’t earn the bonus if you currently have or have had any of the following cards in the past 90 days:
- Delta SkyMiles Credit Card
- Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express
- Delta Reserve® Credit Card from American Express
As a reminder, the AMEX Blue Delta card is NOT a good card for folks new to miles & points. Because there are other cards that offer bigger sign-up bonuses and earn more flexible points.
But it might be a good option for folks who are above the Chase 5/24 rule and who have already for other AMEX Delta credit cards. Plus, keeping a no-annual-fee card like this in your wallet can eventually boost your credit score.
Bottom Line
The no-annual-fee Blue Delta SkyMiles Credit Card is now available to new applicants! It comes with 10,000 Delta miles after spending $500 within 3 months of account opening. Plus, you’ll earn 2X Delta miles per $1 at restaurants and Delta purchases. And 1 Delta mile per $1 on everything else.
If you’re new to miles & points, you should NOT apply for this card until you’ve opened other, more valuable credit cards. But if you’ve already received the sign-up bonus from the other AMEX Delta cards and you’re over Chase’s 5/24 rule, this card is might be worth considering.
