You can get 1 night free after you stay 3 separate times at Best Western hotels through September 1, 2014, when you register by August 10. 2014.
And you MAY save you up to 20% when you book online and stay by September 1, 2014. But it has to be at 1 of the hotels participating in the sale, and MANY hotels have less than a 20% discount.
You get 1 free night after you stay 3 separate times at Best Western hotels through September 1, 2014. You can only get 1 free night with this promotion.
Best Western hotels cost ~$60 to $300+ per night. There are Best Western hotels in over 100 countries, but not all countries are participating in the promotion. Most of Europe, for example, is excluded. Scroll down to the bottom of the terms and conditions to see the list of participating countries. If you’re not in a participating country, you can still register, but have to stay in hotels in participating countries to take part in the promotion.
However, if you live in a participating country (such as the US), you can book hotels worldwide (i.e in non-participaing countries) and still get credit for this promotion.
But can only USE your free night voucher at Best Western branded hotels in the United States, Canada or the Caribbean. You have until January 31, 2015 to use your voucher. To redeem your voucher, you have to call Best Western at 800-567-4009.
The summer promotions from Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, and Starwood could be better for most folks. But this sale is better than the fall 2013 Best Western promotion where you got only 1,000 bonus points per stay.
How to Get the Discount
Step 1 – Enroll in the Best Western Rewards Loyalty Program
If you are not already a member, enroll in the Best Western Rewards loyalty program.
Step 2 – Register for the Best Western Rewards Summer Promotion
Register for the Best Western Rewards Summer Promotion by August 10, 2014.
Step 3 – Search for “INTERNET” Rate
Step 4 – Look for “Promotional Rates From”
Look for “Promotional Rates From” above the advertised rate. This hotel MIGHT accept the “INTERNET” rate to save up to 20%.
Best Western doesn’t publish a list of hotels that aren’t participating. So you might have to do several searches to find a participating hotel!
If the hotel only lists “Rates From,” it is NOT participating in the promotion.
Worth It or Not?
I did some test searches to see how the promotional rates compared to other rates for the same hotels.
The Best Western River Plus Chicago Hillside costs ~$140 with the “INTERNET” promotion code entered for the night of July 18, 2014. The cost is the same for the AAA rate.
The best available rate for this hotel is ~$155, so the discount is ~10% (~$15 discount / ~$155 best available rate).
Best Western cancellation policies vary with each hotel. In this case, the internet rate is non-refundable. But you can cancel before 4:00 pm on day of arrival with the Best Available and AAA rates.
So if you book the internet rate and have to cancel, you lose your money. It might be worth getting an AAA membership so you can cancel on the day of arrival.
You can stay at the Best Western Plus Vineyard Inn in Livermore for ~$108 using the “INTERNET” promotion code.
The best available rate for this hotel is $120, so the discount in this case is 10% ($12 discount / $120 best available rate).
The AAA rate is ~$2 less than the internet rate.
The cancellation policy for this hotel is different. The internet rate is non-refundable. You can cancel bookings made under the best available and AAA rates until 4:00 pm the day before arrival without a penalty.
In this case, you’ll save $2 booking the AAA rate (if you’re an AAA member). But if you’re not an AAA member you can save 10% under the internet rate, but you can’t cancel your reservation and get a refund! So it might be worth getting an AAA membership.
You can earn 1 free night after you stay 3 separate times at Best Western hotels. You have to register for the promotion by August 10, 2014, to get the free night.
Be sure to check which countries are participating before you book your hotel.
You could save up to 20% off the best available rate at Best Western hotels when you stay through September 1, 2014 and book the “INTERNET” rate. Although, the discount may be less than 20%.
I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay at a Best Western just for this promotion, unless the room was really cheap! But if you were already planning to stay at a Best Western, it might be worth it to register for the promotion.
