You can earn 200 United Airlines bonus miles just for signing-up for a fuel rewards program, connecting a credit or debit card, and making a fuel purchase!  And for a limited time, United® Visa cardmembers, like folks with the United℠ Explorer Card, can receive an additional 800 bonus miles.  I have a car and regularly fill up my tank, so this is a promo for me.

It took just a few minutes to sign up for BP’s rewards program and connect my United Airlines frequent flyer account.  This will earn me 2 United Airlines miles per gallon at BP stations, and those miles will automatically be deposited into my United Airlines account!

United Airlines miles are valuable because you can easily use them to book international trips on United Airlines!

If you sign-up for BP Rewards, link a credit or debit card, and make a fuel purchase, you’ll receive 200 United Airlines miles.  Chase United Visa cardholders (such as the United Explorer Card) receive an additional 800 bonus miles when they sign-up for the BP Rewards program and make a fuel purchase by December 31, 2018.

I wouldn’t sign-up for this card just to earn the 800 mile bonus, but if you have the United Explorer Card, it’s a fantastic easy way to earn extra United Airlines miles!  Now’s a terrific time to consider the United Explorer Card because it’s got an increased bonus of up to 65,000 United Airlines miles after meeting tiered minimum spending requirements.

I linked one of my credit cards to the BP rewards program so that I can earn 2 United Airlines miles per gallon at the pump.  And if I go to BP stations in the future, I will see the added United Airlines miles appear in my account not long after!

Note:   If you don’t link a credit or debit card, you’ll only earn 1 United Airlines mile per gallon.  But if you have a linked card and purchase premium-grade fuel, you’ll earn 3 United Airlines miles per gallon.

What Can You Do With United Airlines Miles?

United Airlines miles are valuable to me because I’ve used them several times to book flights to Europe, and flying international in Business Class is one of my favorite ways to travel!  United Airlines miles are also very flexible, because you can redeem them for award seats on United Airlines, Star Alliance partners like Singapore Airlines and Air Canada, and other partner airlines, like Aer Lingus.

You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to United Airlines to help top-off your account if you need more miles for an award.  So consider cards like the Ink Business Preferred Credit Card, Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, or Chase Sapphire Reserve to boost your United Airlines account balance even more!
