United Airlines miles are useful for flying to nearly anywhere in the world, on a ton of different airlines.  So any chance to earn bonus United Airlines miles is one you should jump on.

Right now, United Airlines has launched their Mile Play promotion, which runs through January 31, 2019, and allows you to earn bonus miles by finishing a goal or task targeted specifically to you.  The offer is unique to each person and some folks can earn as many as 14,000+ United Airlines bonus miles after you complete the offer requirements.

Once you’re ready to redeem your miles, check out our complete guide to using United Airlines miles to learn all the best ways to make the most of your rewards.

With This Fun Promotion From United Airlines, You Can Earn Points by Completing Unique Tasks

United Airlines Mile Play Promotion

The points you can earn will vary for each person and so do the tasks you need to complete to earn the bonus.  We have seen offers as high as 14,000 bonus points for some people with others getting offered less than 1,000.

Here are some of the offers we have seen so far:

  • Earn 3,400 United Airlines miles after taking 1 flight of $200+
  • Earn 12,000 United Airlines miles after taking 2 flights of $200+
  • Earn 14,000 United Airlines miles after taking 1 flight of $450+
  • Earn 1,000 United Airlines miles after taking 1 flight in Economy Plus
  • Earn 2,000 United Airlines miles after taking 1 flight in Economy Plus
  • Earn 2,400 United Airlines miles after taking 1 flight of $175+
  • Earn 500 United Airlines miles after you download and use the MileagePlus X App
  • Earn 500 United Airlines miles after you fly with a checked bag

You will want to log into your United Airlines account and check the promo page to see if you received an offer.  It doesn’t hurt to see what you can earn.  It might be as simple as downloading the United Airlines Mileage Plus app for 500 bonus points, which is a no-brainer.

Not everyone will receive an offer.  Many folks have reported getting a message stating that they weren’t targeted for a deal.

This promotion is extremely personal to each person participating, so the value of the offer will be different from person to person.  I have seen some bonuses that look like incredible offers, while others are simply not worth pursuing.

All the deals, regardless of their specifics seem to end January 31, 2019, and require you to purchase the reservation after receiving the promotion offer.

If you’re looking to pick-up some United Airlines miles for an offer that isn’t targeted you can apply for the United℠ Explorer Card.  It currently comes with a limited-time (ends January 8, 2019) increased sign-up bonus of 65,000 United Airlines miles after you meet the tiered minimum spending requirements.

Or you can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to United Airlines at a 1:1 ratio.  And the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card currently has the biggest sign-up bonus of all the Chase Ultimate Rewards points earning credit cards.

My husband and I both got great offers. One of us was offered 18,000 and the other 22000 bonus miles. The only problem is $225 minimum per flight. Since we’re using Southwest Companion Pass for our flights, I’m struggling with is it worth it to spend the cash right now at Christmas time!
