Is It Worth It?
This deal could make sense if you need more United Airlines miles for a specific trip. Or if buying enough miles for an award ticket costs less than the cash price of a ticket.
For example, a round-trip Business Class ticket from Houston to London costs ~$3,500. Or you could use 115,000 United Airlines miles.
With this flash sale, you could buy 69,000 United Airlines miles and get 46,230 bonus miles. You’d get a total of 115,230 United Airlines miles (69,000 purchased miles + 46,230 bonus miles), and pay ~$2,596 (including taxes and fees).
Buying miles instead of paying for the flight would save you ~$900 ($3,500 for a paid flight – $2,596 to purchase miles)!
Note: United has had better promotions in the past, so if you don’t need the miles right now, it might be a good idea to wait.
Through February 9, 2016, you can get up to 60,000 bonus miles when you buy (or gift!) United Airlines miles. And the more miles you buy, the more bonus miles you’ll earn.
This deal could make sense for some, especially if you need more United Airlines miles for a specific trip. Or if buying miles for an award ticket costs less than the cash price of a ticket.
