When traveling to a major city, many folks don’t like renting a car. Due to the hectic traffic navigating unfamiliar roads gets tricky!
Once you activate the bonus (you can activate beginning December 15, 2015), you’ll earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points at gas stations and on commuter transportation (on up to $1,500 in spending) from January 1, 2016, to March 31, 2016.

When you sign-up for the Chase Freedom card and spend $500 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of opening your account, you’ll earn 15,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points.
Other perks include:
- 2,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards bonus points ($25) when you add an authorized user who makes a purchase in the 1st 3 months of opening your account
- NO annual fee
This is my favorite NO annual fee card because you can earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points (5% cash back) on up to $1,500 in spending in rotating categories each quarter. You must activate the bonus between December 15, 2015, and March 14, 2016.
Next quarter, from January 1, 2016, to March 31, 2016, you can earn the bonus points on gas and commuter transportation. This is an easy way to earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points if you have plans to travel to a big city in early next year.
But this is only a good deal is you’re in the US, because the Chase Freedom card charges foreign transaction fees of 3%.
You can activate next quarter’s 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points categories for the Chase Freedom card, starting December 15, 2015, (next Tuesday), through March 14, 2016.
