Folks traveling through Denver for the holiday season, be warned!
Via The Points Guy, until January 1, 2017, travelers will experience an influx of ice when traveling through the Denver airport. Free of charge!
Denver airport has opened an ice skating rink in the airport’s open-air plaza, open between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm daily. So check it out!
I like seeing airports go out of their way to make the holiday travel more enjoyable for travelers!
Denver and United Airlines Are Bringing Extra Holiday Cheer
Link: Denver Airport Schedule of Events
Denver airport and United Airlines have teamed up to give travelers a fun diversion to take the edge off a turbulent commute. They’ve opened an ice rink to the public, and everything is free, including skate rentals! The ice rink isn’t huge (it’s just a temporary platform, after all), but it’s a great stress reliever.
There are other festivities, too, like:
- Live entertainment
- A holiday market in the airport plaza
- A holiday classic movie shown in the airport plaza
These activities are free, and a great way to pass your layover, whether you’re alone or with a group. I’ve never been ice skating, but if I end up routing through Denver by January 1, I plan to give it a go!
Bottom Line
The Denver airport and United Airlines are bringing a little extra cheer to what can otherwise be a very chaotic travel season!
They have opened an ice rink with free admission and free skate rentals to travelers. And other festivities, as well!
