The Daily Getaways website will have a new deal every weekday at 1:00 pm Eastern Time from May 19, 2014, until June 20, 2014.
However, you have to be quick to get in on these deals because they sell out within minutes!
And you’ll save an additional 10% if you use your American Express card. These includes cards like The Platinum Card from American Express or business card, the Starwood hotel personal or business card, or the Delta personal or business card. Note: American Express gift cards aren’t eligible for the 10% discount, but some folks have reported Bluebird cards are eligible.Best Western Points
You can buy discounted Best Western points for 0.65 cents per point.

You can buy 5 sets of points, for a total of 50,000 Best Western points.
Best Western normally sells points for 1 cent per point. With this deal, you’re buying Best Western points for 0.65 cents per point.
You can use Best Western points at any Best Western branded hotel. And Best Western points never expire for members who live in North, Central and South America, Asia and South Africa!
Best Western points can be transferred to certain airlines at a 1:5 ratio, but this is expensive and not a good deal.
You could save money buying Best Western points instead of paying cash, depending on the hotel and your travel dates. You’ll get more value using your Best Western points for hotels outside the US (especially Europe).
Best Western Hotel Palazzo Ognissanti
For example, a 1 night stay at the Best Western Hotel Palazzo Ognissanti in Italy on July 18, 2014, costs 28,000 Best Western points or ~$199. Buying Best Western points saves you $4 ($199 if you pay cash – $65 x 3 sets of Best Western points).
If you use your American Express card, you’ll save an extra 10%. So you would save ~$24 ($199 cash price – $65 x 3 sets of Best Western points + ~$20 discount for using an American Express card that gets a 10% discount).
Your exact savings will depending on the hotel and travel date.

There are no blackout dates when using points at Best Western. Although, as with any hotel rewards redemption program, each hotel may limit the number of rooms available for points. So awards nights might not be available on your travel dates.
You should check your hotel and travel dates and make sure it makes sense before you buy points.
For instance, I thought I’d be clever and buy Best Western points on the cheap with this promotion and use them for New Year’s Eve at the Best Western in Times Square when that hotel is ~$360 per night. But the website says I can’t book with points.

But when I tried to book in August for summer vacation I COULD book with points for 28,000 a night. Depending on the date you choose, the cash price is ~$300 or more per night when you include taxes.
If you wanted those dates, you’d use my American Express card to buy three 10,000 point sets at $58.50 each for a total of ~$176.
So in this example, if you know for sure you’re spending a night in New York City this summer and you want a Times Square location, you can quickly save ~$120 and have 2,000 Best Western points leftover.
But you should check your desired dates at the location before you buy to make sure that hotel is accepting points during that time.
