Before I started in the miles & points hobby, I would have never considered paying a credit card annual fee.  Then, I discovered how the best travel credit cards with annual fees can come with sign-up bonuses worth $1,000s and fantastic ongoing perks, like free cell phone insurance!

For example, I applied for the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card when it launched in 2016.  I recently paid the card’s $95 annual fee for the third time.  And I’ll gladly continue to keep paying to keep this card in my wallet.  Why?  Because the value I get from this card is worth MUCH more than $95!

First off, the sign-up bonus is ridiculously valuable.  When you apply for the Ink Business Preferred, you’ll earn 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.  I used the card’s sign-up bonus to fly Business Class to New Zealand.  The same ticket would have cost more than $4,000!  Here’s a video highlighting our bucket list trip to New Zealand!

Even after earning and redeeming the sign-up bonus points, I continue to use this card for purchases.  That’s because I earn 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points per $1 on the first $150,000 spent each account anniversary year in combined purchases within these categories:

  • Travel
  • Shipping purchases
  • Internet, cable, and phone services
  • Advertising purchases with social media sites and search engines

But one of my favorite perks of the Ink Business Preferred is the automatic cell phone insurance.  I’ve successfully used this benefit twice!

Last year, I got $85 back toward a repair of my Apple iPhone 7 Plus screen replacement.  And more recently, I received a check for $179, which covered a large part of my Apple iPhone X screen replacement.  Between the 2 claims, I’ve received $264 back from Chase card benefit services.

Our Review:   Apply Now for 80,000 Points With the Chase Ink Business Preferred!

Right now the Chase Ink Business Preferred card offers the best welcome offer of any Chase Ultimate Rewards card.  You can earn  80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending $5,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening.

With the Ink Business Preferred, you can use Chase Ultimate Rewards points for cash back at 1 cent per point, or get even more value by redeeming them for travel (including airfare, hotels, and car rentals) through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal, or transfer points to hotel and airline partners.  At a minimum, the sign-up bonus is worth $1,000 in travel through the Chase travel portal!

The Ink Business Preferred has a $95 annual fee which isn’t waived for the first year.  However, given that the welcome bonus alone is worth at least $1,000, this makes the card well worth it for virtually everyone!

Do you have the Ink Business Preferred in your wallet?  Let me know what you love about the card!
