I love traveling, and when I got pregnant, I thought that my traveling days were over. However, I’ve learned that it doesn’t have to be that way! My daughter is 11 months old and has been on 7 trips.
We’ve traveled to Hawaii, to Spain, and yes, to Grandma and Grandpa’s house in Michigan. We like to bring a car seat for trips where we have to rent a car. It’s free to check in car seats, but you always have to pay to rent them from car rental agencies.
The Best Travel Car Seat
My favorite car seat with which to travel has been the Evenflo Tribute LX. I love it for the high safety ratings and the low price. With a width of 18.5 inches, it fits on most airplane seats with the arm rests down. Plus, it looks really comfortable for my daughter. She has no trouble sleeping in it. It’s also really easy to install with a car’s seatbelt.
We haven’t hauled a car seat through the airport to the gate with us for a few reasons. My daughter is only 11 months old, and I can still bring her for free. And the thought of going all the way through the airport with a bulky car seat, along with a small child sounds like no fun.
Keep Your Child Safe & Secure, Without a Bulky Car Seat
Instead, I’m going to try out the CARES FAA-Approved Safety Harness. On many of our flights, we were lucky enough not to have completely full flights, and ended up having a free seat next to us. I’d feel a lot better if I could buckle her in safely.
Look for the FAA-Approved Sticker BEFORE Lugging Your Car Seat Through the Airport
If you do decide to bring your car seat on board, make sure it has the FAA-approved sticker. Look for it underneath the car seat.
There are lots of different car seats on the market. I love the Evenflo Tribute LX because it’s lightweight and easy to install. Plus, if I decide to take it on a flight, I’m able to do so. I prefer it over the Cosco Scenera NEXT because it looks more comfortable for my little one. What travel car seat do you have?
