Via Points, Miles & Martinis, Delta is giving certain folks incentive to earn Delta miles through its travel partners!

Through September 30, 2017, if you’re targeted, you’ll earn 1,000 Delta miles each time you earn Delta miles with a Delta partner.  That includes things like car rental agencies, hotels, and Airbnb!

Switch Your Earning Preference to Delta Miles and Earn 1,000 Bonus Delta Miles During Your Next Hilton Stay

Here are the details of this deal.

Get 1,000 Bonus Miles for Each Delta Partner You Use

Check your email to see if you were targeted for Delta’s latest promotion!  Or enter your Delta frequent flyer number here.

You’ll earn 1,000 Delta miles when you earn miles with one of Delta’s partners, including Alamo, IHG, Marriott, and Starwood, through September 30, 2017.  Here’s what you need to know:

  • Register here
  • Ground transportation and hotel partners (including Airbnb) are eligible.  Airlines partners are NOT eligible
  • Partners with multiple ways to earn Delta points still only count as 1 partner (for example, all Hilton hotel brands count as 1 partner)
  • Your bonus miles will deposit within 60 days

Points transferred from travel partners to Delta are also eligible for this promotion, as long as you transfer enough points to receive at least 1,000 Delta miles.  So if you transferred 10,000 Hilton points to Delta, you would end up with 2,000 Delta miles!

Is This a Worthwhile Promotion?

If you’ve been targeted for this promotion, it’s a great opportunity to easily (and cheaply) earn Delta miles.  That’s because Delta has lots of partners to choose from!

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like dining and shopping partners are included, like they have been in the past.

Note:   You will NOT earn points you’d otherwise earn through these partners.  For example, if you want to use this promotion during your stay at a Marriott hotel, you’ll have to switch your earning preference from Marriott points to Delta miles in your profile.  So you’ll forfeit the Marriott points you would have earned.

If you want more Delta points, there are plenty of AMEX credit cards to help you.  And if you collect flexible points, you may be able to transfer those points to Delta!

For example, you can transfer Starwood points to Delta at a ratio of 1:1.  Plus, when you transfer in increments of 20,000, you’ll get a bonus 5,000 Delta miles!

Bottom Line

Through September 30, 2017, Delta is targeting folks to earn 1,000 Delta miles for each of their hotel and ground transportation partners you earn Delta miles through!  That’s a nice deal, because Delta has lots of partners, which makes it easy to casually earn bonus Delta miles along your travels.

Nope, that link & Delta won’t let me play with their ball. Oh well.

Hi,
Just read your article. Yesterday I was targeted with an offer from Delta that gives me 1000 bonus points after making a purchase from both Delta Dining AND Delta Shopping. I have the Amex Gold Delta and Amex Platinum. It’s wild out there.
