I have completed the minimum spending requirements for this offer but the miles have not showed up on my account yet.

If you have the United MileagePlus Explorer Business Card, can you get the sign up bonus on the personal card? I’ve had the business card for about 1 1/2 years, but obviously not 24 months yet. My recollection is yes, but I want to be sure before applying. Thanks in advance!

@Suzanne – I applied two days ago under the same circumstance. Unfortunately I never had a United card before – just the continental airlines, and I believe that is what is stopping me. However no matter what I said, the gentleman just said that I had already gotten the bonus. Crock of &%$#. Anyway, to answer your question, he did inform me that they didn’t pull my credit for it. So it must be an internal thing with Chase that they automatically declined it. So at least it’s not going to hurt your credit!

I logged into my United account, I was able to see the 70K offer and applied. I got a “we’re thinking about it” message so I called the Chase reconsideration line to ask if I could answer any questions…. The agent told me that I was declined because of the 24 month rule. He said that their records show that I got a bonus for this card on June 9th 2014 (and I applied yesterday, June 2nd, 2016). I am just mentioning this as a data point on how picky Chase is now.

I asked him what my chances of approval would be if I applied again after June 9th and whether it would hurt my chances to apply after having been declined on June 2nd. He wouldn’t really say. Just that I was welcome to apply again, basically reading from a script.

I would appreciate any thoughts on whether it is worth my time and credit score to apply again after June 9th or did I completely blow this one by applying 7 days too soon?

They won’t honor a previous card acceptance of the 50000 miles offer. I thought they used to make up the difference within 3 months of qualifying. Chase says its because of the non-waived annual fee of $95.
