I don’t usually enter sweepstakes because I would rather save the few minutes it takes to enter.  Also, the chances of winning are pretty small, and I always seem to lose.

That said, I know a lot of readers like entering sweepstakes, and may have better luck,  so I thought I’d share a few sweepstakes!

Miles and Points Sweepstakes

1.   100,000 SPG Points

Enter in the Audience Reward sweepstake to receive 100,000 Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) points and your choice of 4 tickets to either Wicked, Sister Act, The Lion King, Billy Elliot or The Addams Family.

If you don’t have an SPG account, you can sign up for one on the “Hotel Reward Program Sign-Up” page, under the “Mile and Point Resources” tab on Million Mile Secrets.

2.   1,000,000 Hilton HHonors Points

Via Unroad Warrior, you can not only win a trip to Hollywood, but also receive 1,000,000 Hilton HHonors points.

If you don’t have an Hilton HHonors account, you can sign up for one on the “Hotel Reward Program Sign-Up” page, under the “Mile and Point Resources” tab on Million Mile Secrets.

Thanks… I am just getting the hang of this. I figured out one essential point. For a newbie who doesn’t travel much, Priority Club or Hyatt is the way to go simply because their points don’t expire (as far as I know), which is again helpful if you don’t travel much. But if I am able keep with this over time and travel more often as well, then looking at other hotel reward cards would be worth my time. I will stay with the Priority Club b/c of the hotel coverage and bonus point availability. Thanks for your help…

Wanted to get your opinion on hotel cards and their worth. In prior posts, you mention you favor Priority Club because of the ease of accumulating points, but you also blogged that SPG is the best as an eveyday credit card, and not just a reward card. HHonors may be enticing but points expire. I haven’t checked Marriott or others. What hotel award cards are worth carrying? Which make sense to carry as a credit card and not just an award card (SPG I am assuming)? Maybe I missed a post or didn’t get to this yet…

@Lee – I like Priority Club because it lets me earn a lot of points either for free or for a very small cash outlay. I do think the SPG card is a good everyday card, but for most people who are trying to meet the minimum spend, the concept of an everyday spending card is moot!

I like the Priority Club card (there is a targeted version for 80K points, join priority club and sign up for email) just for the points and the free night certificate, but not for putting regular spending. For regular spending, I would get the SPG card. What do you mean by “an award card?” Are you referring to the sign-up bonus component of the card?

@InACents – thanks for the advice. I had tried 3 different browsers, and couldn’t get it to work. I used your advice: logged in, went to check emails, then came back at least 5 minutes later, and clicked “Let Em Fly” and it actually rolled.

And thanks for the heads up on the game and 250 sign up bonus (I used for my wife), Daraius

@InACents – Thanks for the tip! It has always worked for me, but I’ll update the post with your tip since I’m sure there are others who may have the same issue.

@Nick – You’re welcome! Every mile counts!

I have been playing the Southwest Yahtzee game for several days now. The problem is most the time the application does not work. After clicking the roll button, nothing happens. I have no idea if I have won or lost most the time.

I think I might have finally learned the trick though…really wait for the application to load and do not click the roll button right away. I will test it again tomorrow to see if it continues to work or not.
