Southwest has international flights on sale from $99 1-way until July 23, 2015 (tomorrow!).

Southwest International Flights On Sale Ends Tomorrow
Fly Southwest to Colorful (and Sunny!) Puerto Vallarta for Some R&R

I’ll let you know which cities are included in the sale.  And give you some ideas about how to book these fares!

What’s the Deal?

Until tomorrow, July 23, 2015, book sale fares for international cities including:

  • Aruba
  • Belize City, Belize
  • Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
  • Cancun, Mexico
  • Liberia, Costa Rica
  • Mexico City, Mexico
  • Montego Bay, Jamaica
  • Nassau, Bahamas
  • Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
  • Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
  • San Jose, Costa Rica

Travel from August 25, 2015, through December 16, 2015, except for certain routes.  Most fares are valid from October 2015 to December 2015, so this deal is perfect for a warm getaway during the colder months!

These fares are only valid on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  And there are blackout dates around Thanksgiving.

I wrote about the ~$213 fare deal from Atlanta to Cancun, which is still available.

Chicago to Cancun in November Is ~$213 Round-Trip! Warm up in Mexico!

The fare also works from Chicago!

Or fly from Denver to Puerto Vallarta for ~$221!

Denver to Puerto Vallarta Is Only ~$221 Round-Trip

Another 1 that caught my eye was Baltimore to Nassau, Bahamas for ~$291 round-trip in October.

Visit the Bahamas for ~$291 Round-Trip From Baltimore

Or you could get the same flights for ~10,000 Southwest points and ~$103.

Fares start at $99 each way.  But you must book by tomorrow, July 23, 2015, to get the best prices!

And remember, you get 2 free checked bags when you fly on Southwest!

Pay With Points to Save More Money

You can book these fares with Southwest points.  The advantage of paying with points is that the number of points needed is based on the price of the ticket.

If the price decreases, so does the number of points required!

The Denver to Puerto Vallarta flights above can be booked for ~6,900 Southwest points and ~$84 round-trip.

Instead of Paying Cash, You Could Use ~6,900 Southwest Points and Pay ~$84 in Taxes

~6,900 Southwest points for a round-trip flight to Mexico is a great deal!  You’ll still have to pay taxes and fees, but it might be worth it to use points if you have a lot of them.

Remember, if you have the Chase Ink Bold (no longer offered), Chase Ink Plus, or Chase Sapphire Preferred, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Southwest at a 1:1 ratio.

Visit the Bahamas With Low Fares, Southwest Points, or Chase Ultimate Rewards Points. Take a Friend for the Cost of Taxes If You Have the Southwest Companion Pass!

And if you have the Southwest Companion Pass, a friend can fly with you for only the price of the taxes and fees!  And you can use it whether you pay cash or Southwest points.

If you want more Southwest points for the next fare deal, the sign-up bonus on both the Chase Southwest Premier and Chase Southwest Plus is 25,000 Southwest points after meeting the minimum spending requirements.  But both cards frequently have 50,000 Southwest points as a sign-up bonus, so you may want to wait until it comes back!

Bottom Line

Through July 23, 2015 (tomorrow!), Southwest has many international cities on sale.

You can fly to Cancun from Atlanta or Chicago for as little as ~$213.  Or Denver to Puerto Vallarta for ~$221.  Travel dates are from August 25, 2015, to December 16, 2015, depending on the route.  And fares start at $99 1-way!

If you have the Southwest Companion Pass, take a friend with you for the cost of taxes and fees.  If you want to pay with Southwest points, remember you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards to Southwest if you have the Chase Ink Bold (no longer offered), Chase Ink Plus, or Chase Sapphire Preferred.

Are you planning a fall vacation with these fares?

My husband and I would like to go to Santiago, Chile. These miles would help us to get there!
