INSIDER SECRET: You can cancel and rebook any Southwest flight for no additional fees, but if you book a nonrefundable fare your refund will be in the form of a travel credit that expires in a year.
The Southwest airlines flight schedule has been extended through January 5, 2020. This is good news because there is very little downside to booking your Southwest travel as far in advance as possible because Southwest doesn’t have change or cancellation fees, so if the price drops you can easily rebook at the lower price.
This is also a great opportunity to take advantage of the Southwest Companion Pass, which you could earn by opening the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card plus any one of these Southwest personal cards (and earning their bonuses) in the same year:
- Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card – Best travel perks, including $75 annual Southwest travel credit and 4 upgraded boardings per year
- Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card
- Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card – Lowest annual fee
The next Southwest flight schedule extension is scheduled for July 10, 2019, but that could change. So subscribe to our newsletter and we’ll let you know when the next one drops.
