During the Alaska Airlines Fall Award Sale, you can fly for as few as 5,000 Alaska Airlines miles (plus taxes & fees) each way. These discounts are valid only on coach seats.
For example, Portland to San Jose is 5,000 Alaska Airlines miles each way during the sale. That route is 12,500 miles for most of November.

Not every date is available at the sale price, so check their calendar. You can see that illustrated in the screen capture below showing flights from Boston to San Diego.

During the sale month of September, there are many dates where you can book at the discounted rate of 10,000 Alaska Airlines miles. But certain dates are only available at the regular rate of 12,500 miles.

The Alaska Airlines Fall Award Sale is a good opportunity to save miles when flying from the participating cities. So if you’d like to take an award flight between August 30, 2014, through October 31, 2014, this is a good deal.
