I do!

If you’re in the same boat as me (pun definitely intended), then a cruise might be right up your alley.  From a historic cruise down the Mississippi to a themed Disney cruise, to a journey through Iceland to see the Northern Lights, it seems like cruise ship companies are really expanding their offerings as they appeal to a larger demographic.

It seems a bit fitting that Royal Caribbean, whose motto is “your adventure awaits” would announce a new route from Hawaii to Vancouver with another sailing from Seattle to Alaska, “the final frontier.”  I’m swooning at these 2 itineraries.  Sure, these trips aren’t sailing until 2020, but honestly, that’s not too far into the future.

Remember you can book cruises with Chase Ultimate Rewards points too!

We’re going beyond bingo in the stateroom (although, who doesn’t love a good game of bingo) and moving on to helicopter day trips to explore a glacier.  This might really be the adventure you’ve been waiting for.

Link 2 Cruises for the Ultimate Adventure

Looking through Royal Caribbean’s adventure reveal page, I realized that you can actually travel all the way from Alaska to Honolulu by linking 2 epic cruises. Here’s how it’s done.

There are 3 different ships sailing variations of this route, so you have options.

1.   Travel on Serenade of the Seas

In August 2020, there is a route that originates in Vancouver, British Columbia, and travels up to Alaska for a 7-night cruise.  After the ship returns to Vancouver, there will be another cruise departing for Honolulu in September.

There’s definitely a bit of a gap in between departures here, but if you have some time to spend in Western Canada, it’s well worth the wait.  And the Hawaiian islands will be even more appealing after extending your time in the Pacific Northwest.

2.   Book a Trip on Ovation of the Seas

This might be the ultimate dream trip.  Starting in May 2020, you’ll leave port in Honolulu and head toward Vancouver on a 12-night cruise.  Once you arrive in Vancouver, you’ll connect to a 7-night cruise and head up to Alaska.  Traveling up to Alaska the boat meanders through spectacular views of glaciers.  You’ll end in Seattle.

3.   Reserve a Spot on Radiance of the Seas

A third option gives you some additional flexibility.  There are a lot of different itineraries between Alaska and Honolulu on this ship.  Trips range from 7 to 12 days for each leg of the journey.  You can start in Vancouver for the Alaska portion of the trip and then end in Hawaii for the final stretch of the cruise.

Since these itineraries and dates were recently announced, it’s a good idea to do some additional research on Royal Caribbean to see what trip makes the most sense for you.  I’m just excited to see you can actually plan almost 3 weeks at sea traveling between Hawaii and Alaska!

As an avid traveler who appreciates the aspect of planning in advance, I’m really excited about this new find.  It’s really not too early to start thinking about 2020 travel plans, and booking one of these cruise sounds so appealing!

I’m going to keep an eye on these 3 itineraries because they’ve just started taking reservations and are sure to sell out quickly.  As Royal Caribbean’s website aptly states, “the early bird gets the world.”
