UPDATE: The Chase Sapphire Preferred no longer earns 3X points on the 1st Friday of the month.
Have plans to dine out today? If you pay with your Chase Sapphire Preferred card, you’ll earn 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on your meal!
Plus, you can easily turn your 3X points into up to 8X points, I’ll explain!
What’s 1st Friday?
Link: Chase Sapphire Preferred
Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders normally earn 2X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on dining (and travel). But on the 1st Friday of each month, you’ll earn 3 Chase Ultimate Rewards points per $1 spent when you eat out.
This deal won’t be returning next year, so there are only 3 more chances to take advantage of this bonus. What I like about 1st Friday, is it’s easy. You don’t have to register or show a coupon, just pay with your card.
Don’t plan on eating out tonight? You’ll also earn 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on gift cards purchased directly from restaurants and at some bars and nightclubs that serve food.
And the Chase Sapphire Preferred does NOT charge foreign transaction fees. So you can use your card to participate in 1st Friday, even if you’re traveling abroad.
I wouldn’t go out of my way to earn 1 extra Chase Ultimate Reward point per $1, but it’s a nice deal if you already have plans to go out to eat today!
How to Stack This Deal!
By signing-up for Rewards Network, dining at a participating restaurant, and paying with your registered Chase Sapphire Preferred card, you can earn up to another 5X points on your meal.
It’s free to create a Rewards Network account and you can choose to earn points with airline and hotel partners including:
- American Airlines
- Delta Airlines
- Hilton Hotels
- IHG Rewards
- Southwest Airlines
- United Airlines
See my previous post on 1st Friday for details on how the points can add up!
Today’s 1st Friday! So you can earn 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on dining with your Chase Sapphire Preferred card.
You only have a few more chances to take advantage of this deal before it’s over.
I wouldn’t buy dinner just to earn an extra point per $1. If you’re already dining out today, it’s worth paying with your Chase Sapphire Preferred card to earn the bonus points.
